Tokyu Stay Kamata
Ranked #11 of 51 Hotels / Ryokan in Ota
Reviewed February 11, 2013 via mobile

Our flight from Singapore arrived in Haneda around midnight and transport out of the airport was a big concern since taxis appeared to be the only option after 12.30am. Tokyu Stay Kamata was a good choice because it was accessible from Haneda by train till 12.30am.
We stayed 3 nights in the twin room and 1 night in a double room because the twin rooms did not have a washer and dryer in the room.
The twin rooms offered our family of 3 more space and we were relatively comfortable in it. The double room however is significantly smaller and we did have trouble trying to open our suitcases in the small room. Both the rooms were clean and the hotel felt new, which was a big plus.
Breakfast was 500 yen per person. However, we felt that the spread was limited and given another chance to choose, we probably would not have included it into our package.

I really recommend this hotel!
Its new building, quite clean room(but size is not so big),not too much service.
As I really impressed about some of amenities, you can get how many you need(without brash and towel) from in front of elevator.
and there are two normal pillows and a cylindric pillow! What a comfortable!
I considered stay at near Narita Airport(because I arrived at there in around midnight), but I could get this hotel easily by train, and also I didnt have to wait shuttle buss in cold to hotel which is near airport, so It was really good choice ;)

My wife and I stayed here one night before a very early flight from Haneda. For the price (we payed the equivalent of $150 for a twin room) it's an incredible value for the area. I'm not sure why it's this low. Our nonsmoking room looked nearly new and was relatively spacious by Japanese standards. Some floors apparently have wireless internet, as ours did, and it was extraordinarily fast.

There's lots of food around---Kamata is a relatively busy area---but if you want to be extra lazy it's actually possible to order a Pizza Hut pizza online for delivery from their Japanese website. Turn on google translate and don't be scared.

In terms of transportation: the train station right next to the hotel is on the Keikyu line, *not* one of the JR lines. Therefore you cannot reach the station directly from Tokyo Station. You can instead walk from JR Kamata station, it's just under 10 min. In the morning, the Keikyu airport line doesn't start running until about 5:20AM, so you cannot use to to get to Haneda for their earliest departures. A taxi is about $40.

I stayed here a couple of times by my self, on business. First time I got a one-bed standard tiny room with a small fridge, a washing machine and a microwave and even a humidifier. The second time I was given a large two-bed room as others were not available. The larger room does not have a washing machine. There are bathroom amenities, slippers and robes for your use. Both require a cable for internet so bring a longer one for comfort- the provided one is hardly a meter long. English language TV is very scarce and offers little entertainment. It's very quiet and great for rest. Plenty of eateries around. A modest but filling breakfast is available for a fee. For a haircut visit the nice old lady right across the street: gracious, classic service and cheaper than others as well. The staff are friendly and will help you with anything you may need. All in all a nice comfortable stay... and no creaky sounds during earthquakes!

very close to the airport 8 min ride on the train( very close to both Kamata stations)/ 20 min by cab,,,,,,For the price the hotel is very clean yet the room is very small, so not ideal for a couple staying for more than a night or so... but if you were planning to see Tokyo on a budget - its a great hotel if you only see it for sleeping.... it's in a suburban area - so very close to the supermarket and shops........Easy to get to other parts of Tokyo too - on the subway system..... I will definately go back as hard to fault it for the reasonable rate per night.........

My flight arrived at HND very late at night, and the hotels that are close to the airport are just too expensive. Tokyo Stay Kamata is accessible via keikyu line, and its abt 2-3 mins walk from Keikyu Kamata station. The plus point for this location is that the last train, if I remember correctly, to this station from Haneda is around 00.20, as compare to last train at 00.00 to Shinagawa. So you wouldn't have to rush so much.

The room was very small, it could also be because I had a corner room. But i didn't expect it to be that much bigger. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was pretty awesome. My room didn't have a bathtub, but the rain shower and the temperature could be nicely adjusted and after such a long flight, that was something I neeeded. Everything looks really new. Breakfast was wonderful for 500 yen, I paid 800 yen in some other hotel for breakfast and it's not even half as good as the one I had at Tokyu Stay Kamata.

Downside is there's no wardrobe, and the TV has no english channels.

But overall I'm very impressed! :) will stay here again.

I stayed here on the last night of my recent trip to Japan because of the proximity to Haneda Airport. The room was faultless, new, very comfortable bed and nice large bathroom. The people in Kamata were also some of the friendliest and helpfull I had met on this,my 4th trip to lovely Japan. I would however like to warn those, who like me kept their dirty laundry for their last night in Japan - this property does not have a coin laundry - so if you wash your clothing - do so before or after you get to this property or book a room with a washing machine (which they kindly upgraded me to with many oher benefits). Kamata Station is currently a building site and not very user friendly if you are not proficient in Japanese but I do believe once this is finished, this Hotel will be a very useful alternative to Hotels in central Tokyo. It is only 15 minutes by train to Shinagawa Station, which is on the Yamanote Line and gives you access to all Tokyo holds. I might well stay here in future. Higly recommernd.
