“Reasonable but could be better”
Reviewed January 8, 2013

Stayed here two nights at the bookend of our trip to Vietnam. The rooms are small but manageable and clean. The hotel is quiet and the sleep is solid. Good for 1 night. What's annoying about the place is the complete helplessness of the staff when it came to basic interactions in English. Asking them to order us a taxi to the airport almost became a game of pictionary. Getting a recommendation of where to eat dinner nearby brought us stares like we were aliens (they pointed to McDonalds on a map, convinced there was nothing else nearby that took credit cards. We walked 5 minutes and found several places, including a fantastic sushi joint). This happened on both ends of the trip.

I get that we're in Japan and comfort in languages varies, and the staff was nice enough notwithstanding, but this is a traveler's hotel! Surely they can do a bit better. (We encountered Vietnamese children in the countryside with better comprehension).

The proximity to Haneda and the subway is great, but the hotel doesn't have a shuttle, so if you're arriving very late or very early, be prepared to spend ~3800 yen (~45 USD) on a 15min taxi ride. It's an expensive country.

The location was very nice. It is not in a too crowded area where bars and drunk kids hang around. The area and the place is peaceful. Walking to the path from the Kamata train station to the hotel while carrying your luggage is very convenient. The staff was really very helpful to us. I would definitely stay here when I go back to Tokyo.

I choose this hotel due to the close location to HND. I found the staff to be very helpful even when the English was limited. Small room but fine for 1 night, wifi if you ask at the desk other wise LAN (which is no problem since you can reach every where in the room with the cable). I took a taxi from the K.Kamata station (700 yen) since it was starting to rain and was midnight but it is really easy to walk if you have a map. Get close to the JR Kamata station and ask directions.

Room was small but very clean, TV in the corner with only JP stations, free coffee on floor one and vending machines on other floors. I found it quiet until about 9:00am when the cleaning staff made a rukus.

I don't know I'd stay here for multiple nights but staying for flights is a good choice. I can't say why others would give it a 5 star rating but it is a good value.

Room Tip: request a quiet room (I got a lower floor that blocked street noise)

We were arriving at Haneda close to midnight and needed a nearby hotel to stay for a nite before heading to Shinjiku. We found this necessary as most transport services out of Haneda stops at midnight. MyStays was perfect as it was reasonably priced and accessible via a bus service from Haneda international terminal at bus stop 8. The last bus leaves at 0.30 for JR Kamata station which is a 5-8 min walk from the hotel. Taxi as a last alternative would hurt less due to proximity.

The rooms were tiny but very clean, and quite comfortable with all amenities. Helpful front desk. Getting to Shinjiku the next day from JR Kamata station was quite an adventure as it required 3 transfers with a lot of going up and down stairs. Not fun with luggage.

The MyStays Inn in Kamata , Ota district of Tokyo was very clean and efficient. BUT only 1 bed per room. The hotel was approximatley 3 blocks from the subway stop from the Obihiro airport but almost impossible to see until we got to it. Have a good map. The staff were helpful and spoke english. The hotel is closer to the Kamata subway line but still a block away. Everything a visitor would need is just a short stroll from the hotel, including some interesting bars. For couple or single travellers I would recommnd it. Great access to Tokyo by the subway, once you get over the map. Laundry was free.

Room Tip: Corner rooms such as 01 are bigger, cost $20/night.

I could not say anything bad about this budget hotel.

We stayed 4 nights in July 2012.

The room was small, but it was enough for what we needed. There were 3 types of pillows, air conditioning, a clothes presser and a dehumidifier in the room. We liked the mattress on the bed very much and we slept very well.
Price: As far as we were concerned, the price we paid (under 90 Euro per night) was a very good one.
Location: Pretty far away from the airport (Narita), but that is normal in Tokyo as it is a big town. Very close to supermarkets (2 minutes walk) and to the Kamata train station (maximum 5 minutes walk).
Hotel Staff: Very polite and helpful. Some were speaking English, some not. Overall, great.
Free stuff (Yes, you get a lot of free stuff):
- Coffee at a coffee machine on the ground floor. Very good coffee.
- Laundry bags, ice from an ice-machine, shaving cream, tooth brushes, wired internet.
- Umbrellas.
- Comb, cotton ear sticks.
- Package for the ladies.

There also is a fridge in the room and you can warm up your food at a microwave on the 4th floor.

The hotel does not have a restaurant.

Overall it depends what you are looking for.
We wanted to buy food at the supermarket, keep it in the fridge and warm it up. It was perfect.

Would recommend the hotel if you are traveling on a budget.

I stayed one night in this hotel because it located just 4 stations from Airport due to my late night flight. I arrived hotel on almost 12am but the check in was fast and the staffs was very professional. The room is comfortable and very clean. If the hotel could provide free wifi then will be plus point.
