“Fun food in a fabulous atmosphere.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 17, 2012

Went here just on the trip advisor reviews and what a great choice it was for dinner one evening, whilst in Tokyo. It was a little difficult to find as there are no signs in English, however if you are walking down the hill from Roppongi station, it's on your left hand side. There are a pile of shoes just inside the door on the left and there are loads and loads of sake bottles behind the people cooking.
The menu is mainly various cuts of people cooked 'on sticks' yakitori style. Some of the cuts weren't quite to my taste. Chicken gizzard and beef tounge etc, however for the more fussy eaters there are plenty of 'normal cuts' of meat and loads of cheese and veg which are delicious. That said we ordered the chicken breast yakitori and the chicken came practically raw in the middle. We ummed and ahhed over whether to send it back, then we saw a couple order a selection of raw chicken pieces, including heart gizzard liver and chicken breast, so we just ate ours!!!!
We took our inspiration from the people sitting next to us and ordered a selection of dishes, then ordered some more and then some more, which was great fun! Although it is easy to loose track of how much you spend. So with a couple of beers and sake, it came to close to 6000yen. Expensive but the atmosphere and the food was brilliant and I'd have no hesitation in recommending it.

“Excellent food in an intimate atmosphere”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2012

One of the highlights of my most recent trip. Best meat on a stick (for lack of a better term) I've had in Tokyo. This is a small restaurant that's not for the clausterphobic. Shoes are left at the door and most tables have floor/cushion seating. There are several places at the bar as well. The salted pork and skirt steak are both delicious. Very good location for a casual meeting or get together with friends. It tends to be noisy since the tables are tight. They have a good selection of Sake as well. Recommend starting with a selection of meat and then just adding more as you go along if you're still hungry.

“AMAZING and so fun.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 25, 2012

Ate here last week after a recommendation from a friend that used to live in Tokyo and LOVED everything about the restaurant. A bit hard to find (the street is easy to locate) but the sign is in Japanese so wasn't sure if we were in the right place.

The restaurant is small with about 10 seats at the bar and a few tables around the corner. Really cozy, you take your shoes off and they give you a blanket if you are cold. We sat at the bar for a few hours and ordered a few skewers at a time and tried a bunch of different sakes. Highlights were the skirt steak and the wrapped asparagus, though really, everything was terrific.

Reasonably priced and everything we tried was delicious, definitely try this place again if I find myself back in Tokyo!

“Tiny, tasty and trendy”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2012

Having accidentally come across this little place, we were immediately pleased by the warm welcome - even before the crossed the threshold. Shoes off! You're in an actual Japanese place here. The large etagere full of sake bottles separates the small space in two, making it even more cozy. Still, we easily got a table for four behind it. The waiters did not forget our corner - on the contrary, they were most attentive without being nozy. And most importantly, the food was simply marvelous - easily the best that we have tried in Japan. We came back two days later and were not disappointed.
