The hotel is in a business district and most of the clients are business men. The lobby looks quite nice but you have lower your expectations for the rooms. It's a high building but the hotel is located only on the first 3-4 floors. The first night i stayed in a room without a window. The next day they were kind to change my room on the top floor, still with a small window with no view at all. The breakfast was very strange. It's in the lobby served as snack. No tables/chairs to sit.
But despite all, the hotel is nicely located. There is a metro station just outside the hotel. Also in the same station there are nice restaurants where you can enjoy. For foreigners there is even a Paul where you can have a breakfast. Also the price is very reasonable in Tokyo standarts.

In reality, we had no expectations. Having used a travel agent we weren't sure what to expect. Wow! Nice little hotel located above the Roppongi-Ichome subway station and next door to the Izumi Gardens towers. Rooms are small but were big enough for comfort. My room overlooked a side street with a beautiful view of Cherry Blossom trees - really beautiful at night all lit up. Breakfast each morning - I am not a picky eater and thoroughly enjoyed discovering what was on the buffet each morning. My daughter and son-in-law not so much. However, downstairs, there are restaurants, bakeries, and a coffee place which satisfied the kids. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. Each morning, we would stop and ask for directions to the various places we wanted to visit and they always knew how to get us there. One plus for our family, it was only a short walk to Lawry's for Easter dinner. Would I recommend this hotel? Absolutely, without reservation. Would I stay there again? Absolutely!

Room Tip: All of the rooms seemed to be equal. My kids room was a duplicate of mine.

If you are looking for a cost-effective alternative to spending 30,000 yen + per night at one of the 5 star hotels, then have a look at this friendly, well run and conveniently located hotel.

Its well priced, very clean, has friendly and helpful reception staff. Rooms are on the small side, but to be honest big enough for me given how much time I spend in the room. Bed was a good double size.

Another word about location - the hotel is above the Nanboku line station of Roppongi-ichome. That line is of pretty limited use - runs less frequently than others and never seems to go where I want to go to. Better to walk to Kamiyacho for Hibya line (and thats a lovely walk through a shady park) or through to Tameike-Sanno station for lots more choice of train line. On the plus side the bright lights of Roppongi are a short walk away.

The Rappongi area is one of Tokyo’s newest (and hottest) neighborhoods for both tourists and business people. Here, the Villa Fontaine hotel serves up a comfortable stay, helpful English-speaking front desk personnel, classy décor, and a location that can’t be beat.

First of all, the hotel is built right on top of the Roppongi-ichome subway station, which means you can get anywhere in the city by going right downstairs. Plus, the station is a vast complex of restaurants and stores, so there’s plenty to do and see.

Second, the room, while characteristically small, was not excessively so…about 100 square feet, which is adequate. Not spacious, but adequate. There’s a small refrigerator, and the bathroom facilities are excellent.

Best of all, there are several major attractions within a 15 minute walk. Like the National Art Museum, which was hosting an exhibit of over 90 works by Cezanne. The Roppongi Hills complex, including a Michelin-starred Joel Robuchon restaurant, another museum, and an observation deck. Even a few Irish pubs and American sports bars.

The only disappointment was the breakfast buffet, which was included with our room. It was unpredictable: eggs and sausage one morning, only Japanese-style choices another morning. Otherwise, the place is an excellent value in a great location

The three of us stayed here for 3 nights while visiting Tokyo. Be warned: the hotel charges per person and not per room. The room was quite large for Tokyo standards, clean with pajamas included. The tap is also filtered drinking water. Breakfast was included and was quite plentiful: rice, fish, hardboiled eggs, miso soup, coffee and tea. Subway Station is right downstairs. The hotel staff is friendly as is all service in Japan. In all, a good experience and we will be staying again at Villa Fontaine when we go to Osaka in the summer!
