Stayed at the Hotel S Roppongi for 3D2N, in a Cube room which I think was one of the smaller rooms available. It literally was a small cube, much smaller than the hotels I'm used to in other countries, but I suppose it was the Japanese style of cleverly packing so much into such a small space that made it seem so functional! There was a living area with a television set, a raised platform for a bed, a toilet with a shower/tub/sink/toilet, and a study area complete with study desk, open wardrobe, sink, and mini fridge. How do they do it?! I'm still in awe.

I stayed solo, but I think the room would have been a comfy option for 2. The bed was big and soft, I literally just collapsed into it after a long flight and slept the whole afternoon away. They provided tea/drip coffee and bottles of mineral water. True to the wonderful attention to detail, toilet amenities included cotton buds, toothbrush kits, a disposable razor, body scrub towels, foldable comb, and a hair band for the ladies. Water was warm and comfortable, perfect especially after being out in 3 degrees all day.

Hotel was about a 10 minute walk from Roppongi station, which isn't too far from where the action is in Shibuya/Shinjuku/Harajuku. The famous Gonpachi restaurant was just a short walk away, and there was also shopping and good food all around. Wifi was great, service staff spoke as best English as they could and were very pleasant, breakfast was great. All in all, Hotel S Roppongi was a lovely and cosy stay for my short visit. Worth a try!

Right in the middle of Roppongi, this hotel is an oasis. You will meet there designers, young people, tourists and business people, eclectic people flocking together, like attracted by a magnet.

The business lounge is designed in a retro style, and the wall of the coffee shop is made of vegetation. There is a complete harmony between the two that makes you feel at home.

The rooms are so very spacious, it is hard to believe it. In Tokyo, room generally are of modest dimensions. But not here! The room is huge. The beds are very comfortable and it is impossible not to sleep well in them. Even the bath: it's swimming pool dimension makes you feel like a princess! There is a huge desk, a sofa. A place to relax and to work. With just the right amount of natural and indirect light, and a very luxurous touch, albeit discreet and wrapped up in simplicity.

The breakfast is buffet style. Occidental or Japanese. The juices and the fruits are fresh, and coffee has a very soft torrefaction.

My crew and I had the pleasure of staying here during a shoot for Travel Channel. Easily the best hotel we stayed in during our one month stint in Japan! The staff were very helpful and spoke English -- which was a big help for us Westerners. The location couldn't be beat - a good variety of restaurants within walking distance. The hotel restaurant was especially delicious.

I will definitely stay here the next time I'm in Tokyo!

The hotel was in a good location (not in the heart of Shibuya or Shinjuku which is where we will stay next time), around good restaurants and near the subway. The only thing I was not ready for the was the size of the room. The room is only 200 SF at best and the bathroom was tough to move in due to the size, This was my first trip to Toyko and I was not prepared for the small size of the room. If you are comfortable knowing you are getting a small room then I would recommend this place. Cost was reasonable but for me it would be worth the extra money to have a larger room either with Hotel S or elsewhere. We stay in a Deluxe Room. The staff was very nice and helpful. Wifi was great. The hallways were very dark and our hallway always had some items from the maid service laying in them. We did not have the buffet as on option on our room but were going to eat there one mooring but decided against it since it did not look very appetizing. We also felt safe at the hotel and all of Tokyo.

Yes, we are very sorry that you were surprised by the size of the room and we will do our best to be more clear about the room size on the web, etc. Thank you so much for your suggestion. This building is actually an antique and made to size standards of about 30 years ago...so in a way, it is a good chance to experience what size was like in the 1970s in Japan. Hope you will come back to Japan and maybe stop by the Coconoma restaurant for some of our famous sweets if you get the chance.

This sophisticated designer hotel is an easy walk from the centre of Roppongi. Our hotel room was small but attractive and well equipped with a large TV, small fridge, electric kettle, cups, tea bags, instant coffee, etc. On the ground floor of the hotel is the reception desk, very attractive small restaurant, bar and business centre.

A very good breakfast was included in the price for the room. This was served from 7 – 10am in the ground floor restaurant and consisted of a breakfast buffet including fresh fruit, smoothie, eggs, croissants, etc.

The hotel staff were excellent and the reception staff helped us with a few matters. Special thanks to Andy Sheffield and Garrett Gee.

A few small disadvantages of the hotel: our hotel room was very attractive but dark and would have benefited from more lights (it would have been difficult to read or do any work in the room). Also, there was no view out the small window except for the adjacent flat roof.

We stayed five nights and the cost of our room averaged approximately £105 per night. This was very good value for such a smart hotel in Roppongi.

The nearest underground station is approximately 8 minutes away. There are many convenience stores (Family Mart, 7 Eleven, Lawsons) near the hotel and there is a small post office just a few minutes away. The famous restaurant Gonpachi is also an easy walk from the hotel. For a longer walk, you can easily walk to Shibuya, Omotesando Hills and Hirajuku.

We are so happy that you enjoyed your time at the Hotel! You are very right that the rate is fair and we are proud of our breakfast with all the fresh vegetables, smoothie drink, etc. We try to make sure the breakfast offers something new, different and tasty every day. Thank you very much for the compliments on our staff and we will make sure they are recognized for their excellent service. We will definitely take the lighting comment you made to heart and see what we can to about that. The building is some 35 years old so there were some hurdles when re-furbishing and some were pretty insurmountable, i.e., the inaccessibility of a nice view on some of the rooms. Please do come back and try another because each and every room in our boutique hotel is designed differently with a unique Japanese/Western mix. Thanks again for taking the time to write your comment.

We were very satisfied with all aspects of our 3 day stay here. Following a pleasant breakfast each day we headed out. We had easy access to all of Tokyo. We walked much of the city from the hotel and used metro to return . Google maps lead us astray on getting to the hotel. It is located right on Roppongi dori just 5 minute walk down hill past Roppongi Hills mall and across the street.

The pictures and site Loker inviting but it ended up as a terrine disappointment. The WiFi did not work ( they spend 45 minuten to fix it but it still did not work). Ergonomically the rooms are terrible. One of the light switches was hidden and I needed to ask reception to find it! The bathroom was small and very plastic! The only upside was that the room was reasonably big and the bed was fine. All in all, too much money for what was offered. (There was no response at all to my complaints about the WiFi inavailability.)

Hello RK, we are so sorry that you felt your requests and problems with the wi-fi were not attended too quickly enough and with care. Your words and comments here are very important to us and although the age of the building (30 years) and how it is built makes implementing a perfect wi-fi set up a pretty big challenge, we are doing our absolute best to solve the problem. Recent comments have been that the wi-fi is working better and we are trying to employ a permanent solution so we hope maybe next time you are in Tokyo you can stop by the cafe and see if it works better than what you remembered.
