“Hidden gem in the heart of Tokyo”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

Have visited Tokyo several times and never even know this temple was there. It's an oasis of quiet in the middle of the city (you're right at the foot of Tokyo Tower!) and well worth the visit.

“Nice place to see Tokyo Tower on the ground”
Reviewed May 27, 2014

I like the comparing larger size of this temple to other small temples in Tokyo. You may see cherry blossom and other flowers here. Also, the best of it is, you can take a picture of Tokyo Tower with the temple without any fee here.

“A beautiful serene place”
Reviewed May 19, 2014

A beautiful, peaceful and serene place to escape the busyness of Tokyo. A few leisurely hours were spent here exploring the grounds, and some quiet reflection time on one of the sitting benches available underneath the shade of the leafy gardens. The rows of stone statues decorated with toys and clothing memoralising unborn children, was particuarly moving.

“Zojoji Temple and seminary”
Reviewed May 17, 2014

This is an important place in Zen Buddhism, a training centre as well as a major temple. Visit the lovely main hall. This is a place of worship and it feels like it. It's a bore that they throw you out at 1700, I'd have spent longer.

“A great visit”
Reviewed May 8, 2014

Take the train there and enjoy a couple of hours visiting the temple. After you visit the temple, hop on the train and continue on to Tsukiji Fish Market~!! Have some sushi at one of the nearby tiny restaurants. What a great day~!!
