“Nice view but not much else to say”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

We were part of a tour but if we hadn't been, there was no place to sit and have coffee or eat like other structures do have eg. Centrepoint in Sydney, Eiffel Tower in Paris. Tokyo has a new tower called the Skytree which looks nice but not sure its open to the public. The view was nice from the platforms and there was a window panel in the floor on the lower level which was interesting.

“High Above The Tokyo Skies”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 27, 2013

Standing 333 meters above the Tokyo skyline is this architectural beauty that overlooks the Shiba Park and Minato, Tokyo area. The elevator ride to the observational area is quick and can surprise your ears as to rise in elevation. There are gift shops on the regular observation level that can provide the opportunity for tourists to send postcards with the Tokyo Tower stamp. There is an opportunity to take a trip to the higher observation posts for an additional fare, but I was content looking through the glass floor right where I was. Great experience, great shopping, and a great beer garden on the ground floor just outside the front doors.

“Night time!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2013

Check the hours before hand. They closed at 10 PM the day I went, but they take their last batch of customers at 9:45. They DON'T accept credit cards, cash only.

“Eiffel Tower Asian sibling...”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2013

We went to the tower hoping to get a clear view of Tokyo and Mt. Fuji. Unfortunately, the latter wasn't possible. Otherwise, the view is good. We didn't go up to the special observation deck. We stayed at the main deck and the view was good. You will need to pay two different fees to access both decks. It is considered an iconic tower in Tokyo. However, the newest Skytree tower is taller and modern looking. The Tokyo tower is a good place to take pictures of Tokyo on a clear day. There are the usual souvenirs shops inside and outside the tower. It looks nice at dusk when the lights come on. The orange paint gives it a unique appearance. If you have the time in Tokyo, stop by and enjoy the view. Enjoy!
