If you have been up a lot of observation decks(and Tokyo has a number of them), the one thing not many have is a proper outdoor area. Fortunately, this is one of them and is probably the main reason to go up here. As per usual, it does cost extra to get to the outdoor section, but if you are after views and photos of Tokyo without the annoying window reflections, this is the place to go.

also lets you have some event specials along with it. Beats the view from tokyo tower anytime($). Be sure to reach the ob deck before sunset. Good to enjoy a drink or two whilst doing so albeit expensive. You can see pretty much the whole of tokyo and Mt Fuji if you're lucky

Gave a good first up impression of how vast this city is. The buildings seems to go on forever. This was part of a 4 hour guided walking tour that we commenced soon after arriving in the city.

It is quite expensive for what it offers. When we reached the top, many people were there and it was difficult to secure a seat or space to stand and admire the view from up top. In the middle were several shops and bars with lights which reflected onto the glass, not good for photography. I believe time spent elsewhere would be better, especially if only in Tokyo for a short visit.

We went here just before sunset and hung around to watch the sun go down. The view is pretty good (although not as tall as other buildings, such as the sky tree). The viewing deck on the 52nd floor is pretty good, you can get a good view. The roof is a little higher, but you can't get near the edge of the building so you can't look down.

I didn't try the other tall buildings, as this was near lots of restaurants so we were in the area, and we went to the art gallery in the same building (the art space is good, but there is no permanent exhibition, so check what's on before you go). It makes a good evening - view, art, dinner, and maybe an expensive drink in one of the bars of Roppongi/midtown.

There is no wheelchair access to the roof.
