“Unique location”

Good value, you get additional ticket for Tokyo City view. Go at 5 pm to see the sunset over Mt. Fuji.

Very good curators that bring always good contemporary art to Tokyo. Opening hours sometimes till midnight

“Just one exhibit only”
Reviewed July 12, 2012

They were going to charge 1500 yen for 1 exhibition on only at this time - was thinking they may have Japanese modern art stuff. It included a trip to the top viewing tower. I don't have a fetish for tall buildings so I said no, and didn't go to neither the viewing space nor the art museum that was exhibiting one display only on a visiting Arab modern art.

“Art with a view”
Reviewed June 1, 2012

We came here because we wanted to go to the observation deck, and museum entry was included in the price. However, I really enjoyed wandering through the exhibition, a retrospective on the Korean artist, Lee Bul. Her work was new to me, but there was a free audio guide available in English to provide more background information on the artworks, which I thought often had a lovely sense of whimsy.

We went to the observation deck on the 52nd floor. You get a great view of Tokyo Tower and the city, but it was hard to get good photos. We went there in the evening and, even though the observation area was dark, there were still a lot of lights around inside the building that reflected in the windows. There were also a couple of restaurants on this level, for those looking for a meal with a view.

The Mori Art Museum is part of the Art Triangle Roppongi, along with the National Art Centre, Tokyo or the Suntory Museum of Art. Your ticket for one can get a discount for entry to any of the others; you have to show your ticket, though, so remember to keep it.

“Something different . . .”
Reviewed May 30, 2012

The Mori Art Museum is the perfect option after a full day of sightseeing, its something different and something quiet in a city that never sleeps. The Lee Bul exhibition was very good and once again something different.
