“Great hotel but expensive”
Reviewed April 28, 2014

The room was spacious compared to other hotels I have stayed in Tokyo. Location was not bad, a short walk to the subway station. I encountered some problems with the bathroom sink, but the staff was quick to repair the problem and they were very apologetic. The toilet was awesome, even for Japan standards. The pool was not kid friendly, you need to be at least 5 to swim in it. My 4 year old son was very disappointed. Then again, this is not a family oriented hotel, most of the hotel guest were in suits. The hotel was $500/night during my stay, so it was kind of pricey. I visited a friend's hotel in Shinjuku where they paid $200/night. I would say the Hyatt room was much bigger and with a very spacious bathroom. So you get what you pay for.

Stayed here two nights visiting a friend in Tokyo. Excellent hotel. Room was awesome. Bathroom and shower great. Staff was very helpful and friendly. No complaints across the board. Highly recommend.

A bit expensive but worth it IMO. Paid about 400 usd per night.

Located in the heart of Roppongi with great shopping (especially for menswear) and restaurants all around you.

Hotel service was fantastic. 5 star all the way.
Rooms was very good. Big rooms and big bathrooms with great tub. I even loved the fact they had a sound dock with iPhone 5 connector. The Hotels whole tech set up was completely up to date.

Oak Door bar was great. And chapel amazing.
However all Hyatt restaurants were on the $$$ side.

This hotel is located in a high end area, so you pay the price. My only call out was that for such a high room rate .... Breakfast should have been included ... And as a regular Hyatt guest a welcome amenity would have been appreciated.

My husband and I stayed at Grand Hyatt Tokyo for the first time and let me tell you, the hotel lived up to our expectations or even better. The room looked new and spacious bathroom was a plus. Location was excellent. The gym and the pool was unbelievable! We did not get a chance to dine at any of the restaurants in the hotel this time as we were busy discovering the city from early AM to late PM...hopefully next time.

We would come back again for sure!

I have stayed many times at the Grand Hyatt in Roppongi going back to when it opened. I have been very impressed at how well they have maintained and refreshed the interior of the hotel. Normally a hotel would be getting a bit long in the tooth by now. The Grand Hyatt looks as good or better than when it was new. Excellent service. The fitness center opens at 5:00am. It is terrific except for one woman, who is some sort of regular, who plants her stuff on one machine early every morning, when the fitness center tends to be crowded, and then walks away for 10-15 minutes. She appears to do that pretty much every day and was doing it when I last visited perhaps as long as a year ago.

The club level lounge is terrific. I hate saying that because I don't want to encourage others to reserve club level rooms. It is a great place to get breakfast and a snack and beer at the end of the day.

Room Tip: Club level is worth the premium.

I stayed there only for one night and was happy to leave this hotel early morning. The staff is very unresponsive - no acknowledgment of your status with Hyatt, no upgrade, no simple thank you for staying.

The club which I used is also a disappointment - not much of a choice during drinks hour, breakfast is without imagination and the food is so blunt that you do not want to come back ever to this place.

The rooms were okay, average in size and amenities. The fun was all about the toilet - cosmos feel!

I would recommend to sat in this location if it suits your destination but do not expect much and the price is also steep.

The check-in process (and it was a real process) took eons, but otherwise the service has been excellent. The staff are unobtrusive but very professional and everything has the feeling of quality. Excellent breakfasts with lots of choice. In a nice area and for a European in Japan for the first time I really appreciated that it was close to the metro and to a shopping centre where you can get most things you need very easily. The concierge has been really helpful in supplying maps and information and very patient with lots of questions. I've not given it 5 for value as, although everything is great quality, food etc is extremely expensive.
