This is a great hotel. Ignore other posters who moan about the location as it is excellent; with Daiba station directly outside and an easy train ride to Shimbashi for all the connections you need. It's away from the hustle and bustle and has plenty of options for an evening stroll, eat or shop.

Book a Rainbow Bridge view if you value that sort of thing. I do and it's great to wake to it every morning. Excellent breakfast and the staff were happy to book reservations for us around Tokyo.

The big disappointment was the pool. It sounds and looks so great for a dip after a tiring day out, but I don't expect to pay £20 per person per day on top of my room rate for the privilege. A big diappointmnet that was, as was the lack of any sort of western news channel on the TV, as I usually pop that on early morning to catch up. As such 4 star from me.

Room Tip: Rainbow Bridge View.

Booked for 9 nights from June 17-26. 2013 via hotel website and had some email exchange regarding the type of room and reserve shuttle bus to/from Tokyo Disney Resort. Prompt review and great assistance.
Arrive at June 17, 2013 at 12.15 AM and the reception was effective. Settle all the administrative and luggage will be arrange at our room no.831 since we will go for lunch and other activities to mall next to hotel (AquaCity & Deck's).
Room is spacious, clean and had a 5 star standard.
Location is superb. Daiba St just 3 minutes walking from hotel lobby.
Disney Resort is 30 minutes by Tokyo Disney Good Neighbor Hotel shuttle Bus, free and timely

We stayed there as it was the headquarter for our convention. The neighbourhood is nice, with an entertainement área around; the bay view is nice. But that is all about it. The staff do not speak english (we were in an international convention...), the rooms are dirty, concierge is of no use, and there is no wi-fi (even if you want top pay). Western style breakfast was decent.

Electrical toilets is something you need to get used to in Tokyo in general,
aside from that Hotel Nikko is surely one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at.
Rooms with lots of space, well-equipped, free LAN (wireless in the lobby, restaurants, veranda), affordable minibar, shuttle services, service level is top.

The best description of this hotel is - Great. It's in Daibada, a manmade island in Tokyo Bay. Three of us stayed here for 3 nights (with my 6 year old son) and it was just great. We were going to Disney Land on one of the days, and booked the free shuttle bus once we had a confirmed booking. The whole experience was pleasant and a breeze. The staff in this hotel do go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. The location was fine - we stayed in Shinjuku earlier of the trip, and wanted to stay in Daibada for the Disney Land, Lego Centre etc, so for the 4 days we were there we didn't go back to central Tokyo. There were lots to do near the hotel - 3 massive malls (Aqua City, Decks (where Lego Centre was), and Divers (gundam robot)). Lots of restaurants there too - we had the ramen theme park and Gonpachi in Aqua City, both were great. The hotel was right at the door step of the monorail. If you go to Narita, the airport limo stops right there.

Our room was a 45-square metre ocean view room, massive, awesome view, and with a balcony. Room itself was of 5 star standards. The beds were heaps more comfortable than other really hard tokyo hotel beds. Bathroom had separate shower/bath; internet was really good.

The other really good thing about the hotel was the price. Of the 3 places we stayed in this Japan trip, this somehow turned out to be the cheapest! There are heaps of good deals on the internet - if you find one that suits your budget, I suggest you go for it!

If you plan to base yourself here and explore Tokyo, it's still reasonably convienient, as it's only about 20 min on the monorail (Y310 each way), then you will be at Shinbashi, very close to Tokyo Station, Ueno (the zoo/science museum), Asakusa and Ginza.

Our other hotel, which we love too, was Century Southern Tower in Shinjuku. It will be difficult to decide which is now our favourite - but if we plan to go to Disney Land, I will go back to this hotel in a heart beat.

The Hotel Nikko Tokyo in Minato is highly recommended for both business and family travelers. The room is spacious for Tokyo standards. The restaurants have child rates. The ocean view is spectacular and a nearby is a great spot to take a picture of the Rainbow Bridge. The breakfast fare though is modest compared to other Asian hotels of its size but well prepared nonetheless. The staff is courteous and helpful. Nearby are big malls where either shopping for Western labels or Japan made goods are a breeze. Kid entertainment is easy. There is a science museum nearby, a Sony Explorascience exhibit. In the next mall is Legoland. Hotel Nikko is a good neighbor hotel to Tokyo Disneyland and bus transportation to the hotel is free. If you want to go downtown, the hotel is connected directly to the Daiba terminal where you can go downtown thru the city's interconnected lines.
Many tours directly pick up passengers from this hotel.

Room Tip: ocean side

I stayed here for 2 nights for work and generally enjoyed my stay. The rooms are a nice size with a balcony overlooking the stunning Tokyo bay. I had a very enjoyable walk along the sea front to the park jutting out into the see.

I was dissapointed that having seen in the hotel guide that there was a swimming pool, when I went to use it I was charged over 1,000 Yen. Also, the restaurants are not cheap and service is not great.

For a 5* hotel the breakfast choice is not up to the standard that I would expect. I also had to sit outside the retaurant on the first morning, queuing for about 5 minutes to be seated.
