The room was on the 36th floor - it was extremely quiet inside - not a fridge or AC sound or outside. I am a light sleeper, so it was perfect. You can see a Fuji mountain actually from the window. Everything was always clean. Please check the drawers for the robes there are slippers in the closet; Japanese type tea cups and a kettle. You'll find 2 different types of tea, but no coffee. It's actually written down on the kettle that there is a fresh water inside, so you only need to plug.

There were many disposable toiletries, wrapped separately; which they bring every day: toothbrush with tooth paste; 2 types of combs for shorter hair; hair elastic, a cap. Good quality shampoo, body wash and conditioner in big bottles on the bath tub.

Needless to say, that the toilets are heated with the installed showers and bidet - so much fun for a western person.

The down point was NO WI-FI; and they check in their guests pretty much close to 2 p.m. You can leave your suitcases in the Baggage storage while waiting.

It's situated next to 7 Eleven, McDonalds, across from Shinagawa Station with a Food Market in the basement and another store across this one. Though food and beer are less expensive in the basement; you'll find A LOT of meals there - ready to eat on your way to the hotel, if you want.

Room Tip: the higher the better

Stayed here for 2 nights for a study abroad program. Terrific location with the Shinagawa station very close. There was so much to do within walking distance and on the property. We stayed in the cheaper rooms, which were quite small, but what else do you expect in Tokyo? The hotel was very busy at all times I was there. Breakfast was very good, with a huge buffet.

First impressions of this hotel are modern and impressive with the soaring exterior in a cluster of hotel buildings, high speed elevators, and spacious lobby. However, our 25th floor room was the smallest of four hotel rooms we had during this trip to Japan - and a little dated. It didn't look quite like the photos on the hotel website. The city view from our room was stunning, the control panel between the beds served a myriad of purposes, likewise the w/c control panel. Definitely no complaints about the cleanliness of the room.

The breakfast room off the lobby had a queue snaking out the door in the morning even though it was the size of an aircraft hanger with, perhaps, 500 seats. Once inside, there was no shortage for choices on offer at all the different buffet stations although some might have difficulty finding their way back to their table through the maze of tables. Postage stamps were available from the concierge desk in the lobby if one was prepared to wait a long time to buy them. Other reviews have accurately commented on the pool, gym, and wifi situation. Not the strongest features of the hotel. We missed seeing the bowling, tennis, golf, and Aqua Stadium with aquarium and dolphin show all located somewhere in the hotel complex, perhaps because we only stayed one night.

The proximity of the hotel to the Shingawa station provides excellent transportation links within Tokyo and to other cities. Truly a hotel of contrasts.

The Shinagawa Prince hotel has a number of different towers on its property all connected by shops, etc. making it seem like you're in Las Vegas with so many people milling around. We were on the main tower 29th floor and the room was clean, comfortable, yet small. I had expected something larger considering that it's a Prince hotel, but that was not the case. The hotel is showing its age and could use a facelift, but it's still okay because of its location across the street from the Shinagawa train station. There are many restaurants outside the hotel to enjoy, but the shopping is not the greatest. Surprisingly, they don't provide ice in the entire hotel. They said I had to go to a convenience store if I wanted ice. What's that all about? So if you want to have a cocktail in your room, plan on buying some ice each day or drink it warm. Have fun!

I stayed here for business twice. I recommend staying in the recently renovated N-Tower. The South Tower is old and the rooms are quite small. Touch both walls at the same time small....

Good location (Shinagawa station is a great home base for any activity in Tokyo, or on your way to another city)
Rooms- Small, and vary by tower,
Amenities/Facilities- Beware, all facilities are at an extra charge. They have a great gym that averages $25/visit. Keep in mind gym memberships in Tokyo cost up to $300/month... so this isn't so crazy. Pool is the same story, separate daily fee.

Room Tip: Try the N Tower. Skip the inclusive breakfast service.

We've been to Tokyo a few times now but this is the first time we've stayed at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel - and it will definitely be the last! This is the first time we have ever stayed in a hotel that charged its guest to use its own hotel swimming pool - and it was not just a notional charge, it was around £10 per person including our 5 year old son - when I booked the hotel there was no indication that a charge applied otherwise I would have chosen a different hotel.

It was stated that there was NO FREE WIFI but what you aren't told is that the free wired internet so useless it is basically false advertising to say there is free internet access.

The reception staff were also exceptionally rude - don't dare ask even ask them a question before 2pm if you are not an existing guest as they are exceptionally stringent about the 2pm check-in (if you try to book in so much as 5 minutes before 2pm they will charge you extra accommodation charges!).

Do yourself a favour and DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL!!

Room Tip: Stay in a different hotel!
