“Cozy and good services”
Reviewed December 1, 2013

Stayed in Keikyu EX Inn hotel for 2 nights.
I would say it was a pleasant stay. Nothing to shout about, it has all the basic necessity that a hotel could provide.

The room was however small, the bed was rather firm and I do have trouble sleeping at night, not the most comfortable hotels beds i ever slept on. However my room was blessed with the majestic view of Mount Fuji on a beautiful clear sky.

Breakfast was okay, nothing special or particularly stands out.
I would recommend this hotel for a short stay, the location is superb as it is situated close to Shinagawa station and is easily accessible to any part of Tokyo.

Conclusion, good hotel but not great.

Very convenient location for multiple transport links. Shinagawa station offers access to multiple lines including the Shinkansen (Bullet train) to take you West. A great way to cover large distances in Japan but it is quiet pricey.

Rooms are basic but have everything you need including free fast internet. No ability to adjust temperature of room, hotel decides if you get heating or air con then you can select off/low/mid/high.

Breakfast buffet is not bad value for money, choice is reasonable although be prepared to queue at busy times. Plenty of choices for eating and drinking in the area.

Room Tip: High level rooms have good view

Best point of the hotel is its location. It is less than 5 minutes walk to Shinagawa station which is a major train hub (Narita Airport, Shinkansen, local trains). There are a number of restaurants, Western and Japanese, fast food and supermarkets around the area. My main gripe about the rooms is that the air supply is centrally controlled. The hotel had already turned on the heater when i stayed there last week, making it extremely stuffy as i could only turned it off or on.

It's hard to beat Shinagawa as a location in Tokyo because of its access to many of the main train routes from the JR Station. The town itself is interesting and there are many good restaurants. The Keikyu EX maintains a good standard of facilities and services for both business people and families. The staff were very helpful, the internet was both free and fast, and the garden restaurant (a separate business) was very good for breakfast, and no doubt other meals. I stayed for 5 nights.

This was my second stay at this hotel. The location is great and very convenient. Rest everything is pretty mediocre. The rooms are average like any other standard hotel and nothing stands out. The breakfast has a reasonable spread of choices but usually crowded and you almost get a feeling of eating in a mess hall. The cellar bar could be a great place but comes across once again as average.
We also tried the lounge bar. Did not get the drinks that we were looking for. The choice was limited and the service somewhat slow.
The staff is usually helpful. The guest services desk at the reception area quickly runs out of electrical adaptors. Therefore be early if you want one!
All considered, a great place to stay when you are in Tokyo on business and are expected to return to the hotel only for the night due to the location. Getting anywhere in Tokyo is convenient from here. Apart from that this is one of the most unremarkable hotel that I have stayed in.

This hotel is located within 3 minutes walk from Shinagawa station, one of the biggest train stations in Japan. This means that you can go anywhere almost directly from there, even to Odaiba or Tokyo international airports (both Haneda and Narita), by taking trains, super expresses, subways, and buses, and there are almost everything around the station except supermarkets.
And because this hotel's equipments are fundamentally from the former high class hotel, the room is big and comfortable against its accommodation cost.
For families with their baby, the width of the bed is very important, and this hotel's double room is big enough for two adults to sleep with their baby.
Of course, you cannot expect its service and shouldn't aim to enjoy staying there, but it has a good cost-performance.
I love this hotel and I'll stay again.

Directly opposite Shinagawa Station this hotel is well located for easy access to many areas. Very clean good sized rooms, slightly dated unit style bathrooms but functional and with washlet toilet seat. Bit of an odor in corridors but room very fresh. Unfortunately the hotel will decide on the temperature of your room. We found it too warm but the aircon was centrally selected to "heat" and there was a little note that said "When hot in the room please turn off the switch"!!! No English channels on TV at all. TVs selected to very dim picture setting but hotel stated that was as bright as is goes which was clearly incorrect. Naturally you cannot adjust it yourself. The breakfast buffet was excellent and good value at 1300 yen per person for guests. Be aware that the Cellar Bar has a cover charge of 700 yen per person for what I do not know as there is no entertainment. You will find reference to this in the small print at the bottom of the pricey drink menu. Overall not a bad place to stay.

Room Tip: Higher floors have good views.
