“The Best steak in Tokyo (maybe the world)”
Reviewed January 7, 2014

it is certainly one of the most expensive meals ive ever had to pay for , a total of 100k yen for 2 , but i cant help but say it was worth it. the beef melts in ure mouth , the cooking method is unlike ive ever seen ,

while i cant stop to imagine how such a fancy place exhists in a very small ally in tokyo , the restaurant bearly seats aprox 15 people .
its a real treat im defnilty going to keep it in my tokyo show and tell list.

“Epic if you know what you are getting into”
Reviewed December 21, 2013

If you do not like HIGHLY marbled beef...don't go here. If you do not want to spend $700 for a steak and some red wine...don't go here. Now that we got that out the way: Aragawa is the essence of Kobe / Wagyu style beef from Sanda cattle from that area. This is a bucket list experience in a cozy room - despite all of the red felt..with exceptional service.

“is this meat?”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

Imagine the texture of foie gras that tastes like a nicely seasoned seared steak. you're in for a treat at aragawa. Don't go here for the decor as it is sorely lacking. the spotlight steaks make up for it 100 fold. go! Be prepared to dish out $500 minimum just for the steak itself though, not including sides. Worth it in my eyes.

I have studied Japanese beef for 24 years, Mtsuzaka ( Mtsusaka ),Kobe, Mishima, Omi and Sanda which produce 4 breeds, Kuroge washu,Akage washu,Mukaku washu,NihonTankaku Washu and i have eaten steaks at many best restuarants when I travel to Australia,U.S.A , Canada , Argentine, Italy,Spain , Mexico etc etc etc.I have been educated by the best beef
masters of the world. Last Saturday, 23rd of May, i have tasted the worst of Sanda beef in my
45 years of steaks that I have ever eaten. The meat is as attached. In order, to be sure, I asked for the certificate of the beef. In order to eat a good Japanese steak, I asked for
my steak to be cooked Japanese rare. Then , I ask for the certificate of authenticity of the beef.
The service staff showed me but refused a copy. so far esp in Japan, no steak houses ever
refused when i ask for one.No steak houses in Japan that have a certificate for
their beef ever refused me .This was very strange, Then , my steak arrived in 15 minutes. I happily dug into my steak but when i put the 1st slice into my mouth, I was shocked, the beef tasted poor and not at all like good sanda beef. I then cut into the steak and finally decided that
it was the worst Japanese beef , I have eaten in Japan for my 24 years of steak eating.

The wines were French and American, but not carefully looked after.Wines were left in
the room and they have only one wine cellar of abt 70 bottles. Service were artificial and awkward.

I have eaten all in half the world but for worst food , this restuarant takes it all.
I have never feel this disgusted abt a piece of steak.

No one who loves steak should ever dine here. Very unfair prices compared to all steaks restuarants in Japan.

“Crazy prices but the best beef I have had in my life!”
Reviewed November 25, 2012

Where else can they tell you the pedigree of the beef? The steak is cooked to perfection and the beef is out of this world. May turn out to be one of the most expensive meals you have ever had!
