“the best science museum I;ve ever seen”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

Great for kids but also adults too, It makes the london science museum look tacky and old where kids get to play with sand and water moving machines, here the kids get to take part in virtual reality cities, and play games where they actually become part of the game, there are lots of volunteers who speak good english and all exhibits are dual language also, its just so advanced, there are tons of robots and a whole exhibit on advances in medical science, and the international space station.

Only cost 600yen

“Interesting, informative, gigantic”
Reviewed September 6, 2012

Lots of interesting cutting-edge technologies on display with great explanations. Also, pretty much every exhibit is interactive and lets you play around and experience what's in front of you, including certain aspects of the space shuttle. Must-visit in Tokyo

“Kid-Friendly Science Museum”
Reviewed August 30, 2012 via mobile

Th Miraikan combines explanations of real scientific fields and concepts with hands-on activities aimed at elementary or middle school aged children. There is some English signage, but the museum seems to rely on volunteers (who may or may not speak English depending on who's on shift the day you visit) to explain the exhibits -- rather than long written signs -- so you'll only get half the experience if you just walk around and read the English signs.

Most of the visitors definitely brought kids, and there are designated stroller "parking" areas inside the museum. The theater and planetarium tickets are free with general admission but sell out early in the day. If you really want to see a show, I'd recommend getting tickets and reserving seats early in the day (right when the museum opens) and then seeing other sights around Odaiba until your show time.

The food options inside the museum didn't look very appetizing.

“Main exhibits worth a visit but skip temp expo”
Reviewed August 28, 2012 via mobile

Nice place to hang around with kids on a sunny (or rainy) afternoon. The main exhibits are way richer than the poor temporary expo (manga theme when we visited) and the access to the temp expo costs 3 times the price of the basic entrance! Skip it! You won't miss much... Most panels are in English and Japanese

“A good educational tour for adults and kids alike”
Reviewed August 26, 2012 via mobile

A really nice museum, although not that big it had quite the exhibitions.

Touring the permanent exhibit takes about an hour and a half, the is also the rotating exhibit which takes another 40minutes.

Overall a nice place to stop at and take an educational tour.
I suggest visiting before 2Pm as there are demonstrations of robots and more activities.
