“Good value and comfortable bed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2014

I knew the rooms were TINY coming into the deal so this was not a shock.

The desk staff were friendly.

The bed was very comfortable. I really enjoyed the buckwheat pillow.

The WiFi worked well.

The shower had plenty of hot water.

I would most certainly return.

This place is really nice and close to a lot of things. Right beside one of the many malls. The room was rather tiny, and slight warm. Had the air on 68* but could not get it any cooler. Very friendly people!! The restaurant food is decently good especially for breakfast. Never ate any other meal.

The hotel is simple. It offers little luxury, but what it offers is very nicely done. The room is thoughtfully designed. All the things are placed within easy reach and where you expect them to be. As example, there are only 2 or 3 light switches, but one can easily figure out exactly which lights they control. This is much better than some higher-class hotel rooms which offer 10 different switches, and it will take a genius to figure out which combination that actually works the best.

The subdued color theme of the room is typical of Japanese design. It is natural, and it is beautiful.

The location is super convenient for Tokyo Big Sight. 5-10 minutes of walk. An airport bus comes here directly from Narita. It takes a little bit less than 1 hour and 2,700 yen one way. There are 2 train stations within 5 minutes of walk. There is a small shopping mall across the street. It has some reasonable restaurants. For lunch, I would prefer walking an additional 5 minutes to Big Sight. There are many more choices over there. But Big Sight restaurants are crowed over lunch time. Walk about 20 minutes towards Grand Pacific O'Daiba, There are several large shopping malls over there.

btw, I used to have this impression of Tokyo being every expensive. With inflation in many parts of Asia, especially places like Singapore, restaurants and food in Tokyo are really quite moderately priced. It's really enjoyable to stay around, to see, and to experience the subtlety of Japanese culture.

A minor mishap. I asked for a non-smoking room, but was given a smoking one. I asked for a change. The hotel was (almost) full on my first night, and all the hotel staff at the counter had difficulty understanding English. Apparently another guest standing next to me had exactly the same problem. In the end, they finally understood our problem and put each of us in a barrier-free room. Given the location (right next to Big Sight which holds many international events), it would be nice if the hotel can have at least one staff member fluent in English at the counter all the time. This is indeed the case on the day that I checked out.

I spent a week in Tokyo and I stayed at this hotel for the whole duration. I had a single room that cost me $100 per night on an average and I'd say that is a very decent price for the quality that this hotel provided. The people at the reception were always friendly and helpful, the room was of adequate size and comfortable, the breakfast spread was huge and wholesome. On top of that, there's a 24-hour convenience store in the hotel that can be extremely handy, plus there's a restaurant and a bar in the hotel itself (both of which are a bit more expensive than if you eat outside, but that's expected). There's also a business center where I believe one could take printouts, send mail, and the like. There is no swimming pool or fitness center. The airport limousine bus service can drop and pick you up right at the hotel and the one-way trip costs only 600 Yen for the Haneda airport (I don't know the price for Narita).

The hotel was very clean and the room had a mini fridge, a trouser press, a kettle, and the toiletries included a hair brush, a toothbrush, earbuds, and a razor apart from the other usual things. There is no microwave though. They even provided a sleeping gown and a quality pair of slippers for use within the hotel. The hotel is located very close to the Big Sight, and the Kokusai-tenjijo-seimon and the Kokusai-tenjijo train stations are very close too, making traveling to other parts of Tokyo very simple. There are many restaurants, cafes, and fast food places nearby too. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in the area!

The hotel is rather standard, with very small room (it seems not small wrt the Tokyo average but I do not have direct experience) and low/average furniture. Beyond the "wow" Japanese toilet, even the shower cable was not appropriate.
Reach the main places in Tokyo needs 30 minutes only to start your visit, since the metro closes at 23.30 it means that you should consider a taxi to return to the hotel.
Wi-fi internet is ok.
Breakfast is ok.
The fridge in the room is very small and empty.
There is a hot-water machine with two teas available.
It seems that it is common in Japan but, even if you arrive at 14.45 and the hotel is empty, they will make you wait until 15.00. This could be annoying when coming from more than 16 hours of travel.

The twin room was bigger than what we had experienced elsewhere in Tokyo. The breakfast and service was average, nothing special to write about here other than the convenient location to the Big Sight. As a tourist I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have something on at the Big Sight - even then, one night is ample.

Room Tip: Ask for a twin room as they appear to be bigger.

The amenities were good. Pub on first floor. Convenience store on second. Extremely helpful and professional staff, which is reflective of Japanese service as a whole. The breakfast was awful. The restaurant was better. Not a place you'd want to stay at unless it is the location you require (close to Tokyo Big Sight) and I would still shop for other options.
