“The place to stay in Tokyo”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 16, 2013

Stayed in May 2013, sorry for late entry. I can honestly say that this is like a home to me. The staff go out of their way to be of assistance! I have stayed here twice and just love the convenience. It is so central to all you want to see & do. The surrounding area has many restaurants both Japanese and western. Getting around is so easy even going for a late night walk, you feel safe. I recommend you go for a walk as you will find many thing you would not expect. I will be back next year and explore more. Thanks to all the staff (will bring more Tim Tam biscuits) Jenn

A great location if you want some quiet at night, 6 min away from JR train.. You can find food all around outside of the hotel.(many restaurants, family mart and other food chain)
The room is a good size for Japanese standards and all you need when you travel.

Booked this via the internet for it's locate and price. When we arrived we were very pleased with our booking which was 3 nights. Fair size room in Japanese terms. Room was changed completely everyday including linen, towels etc. Tea & coffee making facilities available in room.

Location wise you can walk to any number of metro stations within a few minutes. Also Tokyo City airport Transfer bus was 10 minutes walk away.

Plenty of restaurants and drinking establishments locally.

We ate out all nights and didn't use the hotel restaurant, but it did seem well attended on all nights.

Location is quiet, even though we had a front facing room, we had no issues with noise.

Receipt ion staff spoke enough English to assist.

Certainly We would happily recommend this hotel

Room Tip: Certainly we would happily recommend this small boutique hotel.

I am so glad that I didnt stay in the busy areas of Shibuya/Shinjuku. Horidome Villa is located in an office area where you can see people walking to and from work. It is quiet but has plenty of places to eat, drink and spend your time in. The room was small, that was expected but it was the service that made it memorable. Plus its about 5 mins walk to the nearest Subway station and once you get a hold of the system, you are super close to all the hotspots in Tokyo. Lovely!

The 1st day we took taxi fm Tokyo station cost 1000Y cause it late at night. Then we found the hotel is so close to the Kodenmacho subway station. 24hrs Convenient stores and Yoshinoya restaurant. And on the rainy day we could sneak back fm town quite easy. Easy to go to Asakusa temple and Imperial palace.

The location is near two subway stations and there are some 24-hour convenience shops around. It carries some decent free maps at the counter. Room is small but satisfactorily comfortable.
Disappointingly, internet service isn't free and it certainly isn't cheap (the internet system wastes a few minutes starting). Also most annoyingly, one spectacled male staff will frequently patrol the corridors and scold guests for wearing bathroom slippers to the reception or using the laundry too late at night or too early in the morning. What's the point of providing laundry service when you can only use during daytime hours? Surely anyone with common business sense should understand that during daytime, tourists will go sightseeing and tourists can only do laundry when they're back at night or in the early morning before they go out again?

Room Tip: Better bring extra clothes unless you want to be scolded for doing your laundry at 9:30pm.

Location:

Based in a quiet business district within 5 minute walking distance of both Kodenmacho and Ningyocho metro stations. We even walked from the hotel directly to Tokyo station with our big back packs quite easily. We always felt safe.

Facilities:

The room is compact and the double bed is slightly small for those sharing as we were. However the room was efficiently laid out and I (6ft) had no issues standing in the shower (which was satisfyingly strong).
In the room you get a kettle, complimentary green tea, cups, a fridge, a TV, free wifi, air con and alarm clock.
Downstairs there is free hot and iced coffee in the morning. There is also a microwave you can use for free.

Nearby:

A selection of 7/11 corner shops (good for getting cash out as few ATMs accept international cards) and FamilyMarts.
We also ate at the 24 hr Yoshinoya (cheap but cheerful beef/rice restaurant)
Plenty of other restaurants.

Other:

Staff always very friendly and professional. Lots of free maps and leaflets in the reception area in many different European languages.

Room Tip: Although our room was right beside the lift and looking over the main road, we didn't have any i...
