We really liked our stay at the hotel. What we liked most: service, good restaurants and bars. What we thought need some change to make the place perfect: (a) a wall between the room and bathroom is made of glass with wooden shades which do not block the light from the bathroom coming into the room, which makes it difficult to use the bathroom if somebody is asleap in the room, (b) there are not enough personnel to greet guests and excort them to tables during the breakfast time, (c) extremelly overpriced spa (I am not sure if it was ok by Tokyo standards which is infamous for being expensive, but nevertheless...) and (d) that is it! We found everything else simply perfect. Just for fun if you use 220 v voltage equipment ask them for a converter. You will get something really amusing. Big, heavy and looks as if it was made in 70s (Note to the hotel management: please do not replace this thing with something new, we would like to use it again next time we stay in your hotel!:-)

This is one of the nicest hotels I've stayed in. The service was beyond amazing and thoughtful. The manager introduced himself to us and greeted us everyday. The concierge was extremely helpful and the staff were always friendly and ready to jump to help in any way.

There is a subway stop, restaurants and shops right below the hotel so traveling around the city was easy.

The views are good as well, the hotel lobby is on the 38th floor and the rooms are below (maybe 30 - 37).

I've stayed at a lot of nice hotels and this one is in the top 5 in terms of service, attention to detail, and luxury.

LOCATION:
- In Tokyo's Nihonbashi business district, the Mandarin occupies the top floors of a business building and has gorgeous sweeping views of Tokyo (and Mt. Fuji on a clear day).
- 10-20 minutes by taxi or subway to Ginza, Roppongi, Harajuku. It is located right next to the subway station
- Across the street are 2 buildings with just about every type of Japense food you could want- sushi, yakitori, teppanyaki, ramen, and more
- Just steps away from the huge department store Mitsukoshi (think Macy's but even better) which you can reach by underground tunnel if it's raining outside.

ROOMS:
- We were upgraded to an executive suite which had a separate living room area which was very nice to relax in
- The bath was huge with a separate soaking tube, huge shower, and walk in closet.
- Each afternoon when you return from sight seeing/shopping/eating, you'll have a small snack of cookies/chocolates awaiting you.

SERVICE:
- It's really the small things that matter- like the concierge who made restaurant reservations for us and subsequently sent a map with directions to our room (restaurants are notoriously hard to find in Tokyo), the bellman who made sure the taxi driver knew exactly how to get to the restaurant, and the housekeeper that lined up my toiletries and folded all my clothes for me every day.

FITNESS/SPA:
- Gorgeous fitness center on 38th floor directly above spa. The treadmills face out so you can watch the sun rise over Tokyo while getting some cardio in- so beautiful it almost made me want to run another mile. Almost.
- The spa on the 37th floor has a large hot tub that also looks over Tokyo but is not co-ed so I had to enjoy it without the hubby, which would have been fun. Treatments are pretty expensive, but definitely worth the splurge.

You will not go wrong staying at the Mandarin Oriental- I've stayed at a few of their properties and this one is by far the best!

Recently, I stayed at the Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo. It is an outstanding property located in the heart of Nihonbashi. Convenient to all major areas and a beautiful setting, Mandarin Oriental offered a wonderful stay, great environs, terrific food and beautiful decor. The rooms and view were terrific and as a five-star hotel, I would clearly recommend it as one of the very best.

This was my 4th stay in this hotel. I came with my family and stayed for 10 days. We all loved it, the luxury, the service, the attention, the cleanliness, the view, the pillow menu, the breakfast buffet, the spa, the everything !!!! The Mandarin Oriental Tokyo remains the best hotel I have ever stayed in. Highly recommend it. The only thing missing was a swimming pool !
