“Convenient Location near subway and close to center of Ginza”

This is modeled after a french hotel, even serving french food in its restaurant.

You get the usually twin bed perks, including the supplied toothbrush, tooth paste, razer, shaving cream, etc. which is standard for all of the hotels I have stayed in Japan. Also, the room is small, as are some of the hotels with 2 twin beds and a small bathoom and a tub being easier to use at times than the shower. This is not a knock at this hotel, - this is consistent with what I experienced, except when I stay in the Prince or Hotel Nikko in Osaka or Tokyo. In fact, I like the location very much and the staff spoke English and consistent with Japanese service, was consistently very inconsistent. I didn't go with the standard breakfast meal plan, but there were Starbucks and other coffee shops very close by. Also, Lawson's and Family Mart and a knock-off 7-11 are across the street. We also ate at restaurants across the street which were very good.
I would stay there again, as the subway entrance is vey close by and the main drag in Ginza about 2 blocks awat,

Room Tip: I had a room close to the elevator, and occassionally heard the elevator bell go off when the elevat...

I stayed here for 5 nights from 22-27 feb. This cozy French-style hotel is close to the Ginza itchome (round the corner) & Ginza metro ( about 8 minutes walk) stations, hence very convenient. To get to further places beyond Tokyo, one can also walk to the JR Yurakucho station abt 10 minutes away (there's MUJI & The Loft stores near it) and take the train for a stop to transit at Tokyo station (major hub) and then the Shinkansen. Family mart, Lawson's and Sunkus are just opposite for quick grabs. From Narita airport, take the airport limousine to Tokyo station (3000yen) and then cab to hotel (710yen) and vice versa to get to airport. My only complaint was the lousy, flat pillow :p

This hotel is sited in a great location in the heart of the famous Ginza shopping area of Tokyo. Also convenient for the subway and about 5 mins by taxi to the famed fish market. Rooms are clean, and reasonably sized by Tokyo standards - decor is a bit dated and public areas spartan. The hotel reception staff were friendly and speak good english. We stayed for 5 days and still did not have enough time to see all the shops in Ginza! .

This Hotel was plain, but comfortable, the rooms were quite small even for two people. The staff were friendly and welcoming and it was nice to be spoken to in English even though we were in Japan. They kept our cases for us and were very happy to do so, this was convenient for us as we went on a trip to Kyoto during our stay at the Hotel. There was tea making equipment which is always nice, the place was very clean and the staff were efficient. Bathroom was neat and tidy even though it was small. A slight negative thing about the hotel was that the rooms were extremely hot, and staff had to come and unlock the windows for us, and even though we were high up there was no opening restriction, this was slightly scary.
The position of the hotel is excellent, near by is central Ginza and the Tokyo Subway. We didn't eat breakfast or any meals at the Hotel, but food was available and there are loads of places just round the corner to eat.

Great location in a central part of Tokyo and close enough to the station (about a 1km walk), nice enough hotel although rooms are small. Otherwise hotel is clean, wifi included (but no breakfast). There's a lot to do around the area (shopping, food etc).

the hotel is easy to find, great location close to two subway lines, walking distance to tsukiji fish market and imperial palace and is two blocks from ritzy Ginza shopping area.  we stayed for 4 nights and had a great time. the rooms were clean, smoke free and all toiletries were available in the bathroom for free if you needed them. they also had a small frige and TV. the front desk was efficient, friendly and spoke a little English which I was grateful for since I didn't speak any Japanese. they were even able to cut my lock off my luggage when I lost the key! and gave good directions to tourist sights.
I noticed few westerners in the hotel which was also nice, made it feel like I was in Tokyo instead of in a Hilton full of Americans speaking English.
there are two convenient stores across the street and a cheap yummy ramen place 1 block away I'll post a pic if you want to try it.
overall, I enjoyed my stay and will stay at this hotel  when I come to visit again.
I read some of the other reviews and should mention that the room is on the small side but you're in Japan! We had plenty of room for two people and our big American luggage. I also noticed that they have a pull out couch for another adult or two small children (that they do not advertise on the website). The other complaint I noticed was the 10$ charge for the tv, you can get Japanese channels free but I don't know why you would waste time watching American tv while in Tokyo ......when there is so much to see and experience.
Hope this helps and have a great time in Tokyo!!

Room Tip: No pool or fitness center Positives, location, clean, efficient services.

I paid 220 a night to go back to college. The king size bed is a queen at best. The bathroom is the smallest I've ever seen and super raunchy looking. I got here and Super Bowl Sunday and naturally thinking I could watch in the room but they make you buy tv cards at $10 each! You would think if you paid 220usd you could get to use the tv right?! Not here at hotel Monterey ginza. The only good thing is the location. Never coming here again.
