“Great Central Location”
Reviewed September 1, 2012

Fantastic location only 1 block back from the main block of Ginza. Hotel Is surrounded by bars, shops and restaurants. Rooms are adequate, breakfast is good. Staff most professional. Rooms are a little tired and the lack of wireless Internet and English television programs was disappointing.

Hotel i regular quality but in an excellent location comparing with the cost.
You can enter subway directly from hotel elevator!
Ginza street, the most fancy shopping in Tokyo is 2 min. away by walk.
Staff speaks decent English.
Breakfast is both Japanese and western so fitting to everyone's taste.
Recommendation: try restaurant called Tapas & Tapas which serves very good food and has fast acting and smiling personnel. Just get out of the hotel, turn right and then right again.
Prices are moderate and quality is great. Went there with my family and kids every day!

We scored this room for just over a hundred bucks a night and it was a great base to explore Tokyo after more traditional and tiny accommodation in other cities. We were initially looking for the Tokyo central station area but hotels are all expensive there - Ginza isn't a bad consolation prize.

It's known for its pricey department stores - and even though we had little interest in those, we still found it a great location. Staff were polite, as you'd expect at this level of hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip: Careful that the nearest subway station does not take you to Tokyo central or even the main Ginza station, but Ginza itchome. It's the only drawback to the location, which otherwise was great - very close to the JR Yurakcho station (which is just one from Tokyo Central).

Room Tip: We didn't upgrade the room, and it was still unusually spacious for a Japanese hotel.

Ginza is one of my most favorite areas in Tokyo and Mercure (mare-cu-ray in Japanese pronunciation) Ginza is perfect for me.

The staffs are very nice and helpful. Although there's one thing i didn't really like about this hotel is the guest room and bathroom interior. I could see that they did some touch-ups to it recently but red isn't my cup of tea.

I sure will consider staying here again in my next trip.

After months of exhausting research and trawling through TA forums, I finally found this hotel (actually through a Google search of hotels with connecting rooms). We have a 7 year old and we didn't want to be sleeping in a small Tokyo hotel room, all over each other. But he's too small to have his own room, so connecting rooms were perfect! And the price was affordable (for Tokyo). They connect a queen with a twin room, so you get a good sized double bed in one room and two large singles in the other. You could accommodate a family of four comfortably. The hotel is in a great neighbourhood. Just on the cusp of posh Ginza, so great shopping (or window shopping) abounds. We took the airport limousine, which dropped us off at Tokyo Station, about a 5 minute walk away. But we got a wee bit lost getting there because streets have no names!! Thank goodness for the smart-phone GPS. It's a business hotel really, but you won't feel out of place because lots of people have cottoned on to it as a nicely located, affordable hotel. The reception staff were very nice and spoke English well. The rooms were really good. Small by international standards, but well designed. Take compact luggage to Japan, it's easier to store and to move around. Having two rooms meant we could wedge the door open and voila! A mini apartment! The bathrooms had a touch of Japan about them; screen door, spray toilet, deep bath, baskets for clothes; but all well designed and as always - efficient. The decor was nice - but it's a shame the wall paper is an English country scene when it could be Japan! But never mind, it was scrupulously clean, with just a few scuff marks on the walls. Each room had a mini fridge (with a few snacks you could buy), hot water kettle, a few tea sachets, glasses and cups/saucers. No microwave, which would have been good. Your room includes breakfast, but we were getting up early and wanted to eat brekkie in our PJ's so we bought delicious croissants every evening from the Lawsons across the road, along with mini- jams and butter, and ate them with a cuppa tea at our desk/table in comfort every morning! We ate dinner in the neighborhood, or at Tokyo Station - all the stations in Tokyo have fabulous restaurants in them. One night we walked the streets, on a gorgeous balmy evening, going down all the side streets in Ginza looking for a restaurant, and for some reason we couldn't find one that suited. We turned left down a tiny street, then right, then took two lefts and were thoroughly (but happily) lost when we found a cheap and cheerful noodle house, with champon and chanton (bowls of noodles with veges and meat if you want). We had a great meal, and then left, fully expecting to use the GPS to get home to the hotel, and what did we find? The Mercure was just a few metres down the road!! One more thing about the room. We were there for 4 nights. When we left, I stuffed a bag of bathroom toiletries in my luggage to take home. When I weighed it at home, it was nearly 2kg! Have fun.

Room Tip: Connecting rooms are great for a family! Go for an online deal.

It is a functional hotel at a very location! Travelling to the Airport in the morning was fine. We had stayed at the ANA a previous time, which although a much better hotel, the location was not great.
The location has plenty of places to eat breakfast etc.

My son and I had to attend a seminar at a site on theYurakucho subway line so we looked for a hotel on the same subway line. We chose the Mercure Ginza and were not dissapointed. Our room was a deluxe twin and was quite large. certainly spacious enough for a week's stay. While the price was mid range, it was still less than what we have paid in lesser hotels. The facilities and room appointment were clean and comfortable. The breakfast selection was very good with both hot and cold as well as western and Japaneses choices. The rooms have small minibars but there is sufficient space in the refrigerator to store your own stuff. Despite being the middle of summer, the airconditioning was very effective.

The location was very convenient with major Department stores only a short walk away. Despite the location, there are a number of comvenience stores close to the hotel allowing you to dine on the cheap if you want. Fast food outlets including Macdonalds and Starbucks are within a stone's throw of the hotel as well as a huge variety of restaurants.

It is easy to get around as it is close to the subway. To reach the hotel from Tokyo station, just take the Yamanote line one stop to YurakuchoJR station then follow the signs to the Yurakucho subway station on the Yurakuchu line. Catch the subway one stop to Ginza Ichachome then follow the signs to exit 11. There you will see a door leading into the Mercure without having to go up onto the street. A word of warning though. Make sure your luggage is easily portable as there are a number of steps you need to go up and down.
