“Little gem waiting for your discovery!”
Reviewed September 17, 2013

We stayed here for 3 nights in August 2013. It was our first time in Japan so we had no idea which neighborhood to stay in. Now I know each neighborhood has its on quirk and getting around to another area via their subway is super convenient. It might take time to figure thetrain system but it's not that difficult.

Location - The hotel is in a very safe area. There is a subway line really close by but it's not a major line. Not the station to use your JR PASS if you purchase one. Right around the corner is a family mart which we got water/snacks/breakfast daily. There are restaurants nearby but we didn't venture out there much since we were sightseeing daily.

Room - It's classic, modern, and clean. We had 3 ppl in the room and there was just enough space with our luggage. The beds were comfy and so were the PJ given to wear nightly. The bathroom had everything so you don't need to pack anything but your personal stuff.

Service - We didn't use much of this but our room was clean and we were given new toiletries daily!

If you want to stay in GINZA then stay here!

This hotel is the ideal launchpad to explore the fancy Ginza area. In term of transportation, it's minutes' walk to Higashiginza and Ginza station, most convenient to get on a subway to explore other parts of Tokyo. Major shopping malls are just one or two blocks away, including the famous Pedestrian Heaving on weekends.

We can't fault our hotel room. It's really modern and clean with ample space and big bathroom. Not much of a view outside the window but that didn't bother us much. In fact, this hotel was the most comfortable to stay in during our 4 week trip in Japan (with the exception of our ryokan stay in Hakone).

Two word summary: Highly Recommended.

So convenient to reach by walk at Ginza the main area (3 minutes), Tsukiji (10 minutes) and Marunouchi (15-20 minutes). Good and easy connection to Tokyo station, Shibuya, Omotesando, ebisu, Roppongi and even Shinjyuku by 1 metro without change. Not big room, but very modern and new design hotel with a reasonable price. This price staying at Ginza is even cheap, I can say. I always stayed in Shibuya area for conveniency, but this is the first time I found that Ginza is also good place to stay for Tokyo trip. Better to stay at the higher floor with a nicer view

Room Tip: HIgher floor with a nicer view

I come here about 4times a year - excellent newly built business hotel right in the middle of Ginza.

There is even direct access by train to Haneda airport allowing you to reach Haneda within around 30 - 40 Minutes.

Room Tip: go for the bigger rooms as some of their single rooms are very small for western standards!

The appearance was great. The staff bare super friendly and helpful and the rooms are very clean. The rooms are small but compact with everything u may need from a razor to a toothbrush and paste! The Lobby is welcoming and modern and it is very close to everything. Only tip, many can drivers find it hard to find I you have someone who can write the name in kanji it would be helpful or give landmarks like close to Waco Department store , close to mikimoto and Starbucks.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel end of April 2013. We had one night in Tokyo and wanted a base close to Tokyo station and some good restaurants etc. Solaria was the perfect option.

Located just off of the main shopping street in Ginza, not far from transport links, Shinkansen and metro etc.

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful with excellent restaurant recommendations etc.

Room is very small but it seems most are in the Far East. Perfectly formed, big bed, small desk area and small bathroom. The Japanese toilets are incredible. Enjoy!

Breakfast was very tasty. Buffet style. Lots on offer from cereals and toasts to steamed dumplings and sashimi. Restaurant is really nicely decorated.

One small gripe I have was on arrival. We had flown for 12 hours through the night, spent 2 hours getting from Narita airport, and we were told our room was ready but we would have to pay extra to get in to it early. When you are already paying for a full day and you've clearly traveled a long way I can not see why they can't just let you in to the room. Seems a little tight.

That aside, we would definitely stay at Solaria again. Ginza is great for shopping and a few minutes by taxi from Tokyo station. Also, a good walk to the fish market which is worth a look. Short walk to Imperial Palace.

Room Tip: Ask the staff on reception about the japanese restaurant right by the hotel. It was incredible. Trad...
