“Molecular Thumbs Up”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

This is absolutely one of the places you need to try, although it is pricey. We were just three in the bar and there are two chefs serving us. One is the head chef (Chef Hashimoto) of the hotel and the other one is a japanese-canadian chef. Both carried great conversations with us as they do all the creative things with the food.

The dishes are not what they seem. This is the trick of their menu. They change it every season, and they will change it again on September.

Just have a night off and just go there and try it. Book in advance as they need to prepare. Don't cancel your reservation or you'll be charged since they need to prepare all the raw materials.

Worth it!

“Absolutely amazing experience & food!”
Reviewed July 21, 2013 via mobile

Wow!! Loved it!! I have no words but Chef Hashimoto is a genius! It was a bit hard on the wallet but was a highlight for us. So glad we went & we were 1 of 6 at the setting.

“Magic Food - with entertaining chefs”
Reviewed July 20, 2013

Creative, exclusive and entertaining dinner. The chefs duo (one speaking in Japanese and one in English simultaneously) made the experience even more unique. Would go back there without a second thought.

“Amazing creativity”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

We are always on the lookout for clever and creative restaurants all around the world and this is one to impress Kings and Queens, dazzling creativity with plates as canvases, we loved every ounce of imagination behind this place and of course the tastes and flavors, we took a good amount of pictures and have witnessed new culinary heights here

“Molecular madness, fantastic fun”
Reviewed July 1, 2013

Great spot for a celebration atop the Mandarin Oriental near Mitsukoshimae and Shin Ninhonbashi. Terrific fun with food, lots of creativity, good wine, friendly and informative chefs and while by no means inexpensive well worth every yen.
Location on the 38th floor is wonderful -- eye-candy both out the windows looking over Tokyo and on the plate before you.
Do not miss the toilets, almost worth the price of admission, but if you stayed there you'd definitely miss one of the world's fun times with the eight other people at the tapas bar.
Highly recommended, we'll be back!
20 courses, all bite-sized or a tad more and perfect amount in total. Satisfied, but not bloated. Those with giant-sized appetites might not end over-stuffed, but for those used to eating Japanese-sized meals, this is substantial without being even close to stupidly huge.
No waste, no want.
