“Great Experience!”
Reviewed April 5, 2013 via mobile

Being almost overwhelmed by the sheer number of eating options on our last night in Tokyo we read some reviews on Trip Advisor and headed off in search of this restaurant.

To be clear - unless you speak Japanese it is not easy to find. Just for information it has an English sign outside ta small shopping complex, and the restaurant is down the stairs.

On entering we were met by a friendly restaurant manager (who could speak decent English) and were shown to our table. We had booked too late to sit beside the Tepenyaki table but we could still see our food being cooked beside us.

We were taken through the English menu by our waiter Tanabe Masahiro and settled on the set meal with filet steak and a bottle of excellent French Bordeaux. It should be noted the wine selection was excellent with a good range of old and new world together with Japanese vintages which we unfortunately did not have a chance to try.

The meal was universally excellent. From the mixed starters which were fresh and light to the Tepenyaki style ice cream desert (the cooking of which was spectacular) the quality was high. In particular the steak was cooked perfectly to taste and was served with a selection of side orders.

We finished the meal off with a bottle of tasty Sake and teas.

A special mention should go to Tanabe who was charming (yet not intrusive) and made our last meal in Tokyo very memorable.

As a family we would thoroughly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Tokyo.

Fantastic, live abalone from theit tank, amazing Japanese beef, the fixed price menu is very reasonably priced for a teppanyaki in Tokyo. Highly recommended

Although I never like beef, I went to this restaurant because a friend recommend me. I am so glad I went there. People were so lovely and the taste of beef was excellent. I must say it was the one of the best food I have eaten in my life.. Must go!

“Wonderful Restaurant”
Reviewed July 19, 2012

Great Teppanayaki - staff are friendly, food is great and service excellent. You must try the Teppanyaki style Ice Cream desert -exquisite. This restaurant is quite difficult to find - take the phone number and give ot to the taxi driver, otherwise you probably won't find it. It is worth the effort. Not cheap though - Tokyo!

“Teppanyaki Colza - a must restaurant (with English Menu)”
Reviewed July 6, 2012

This restaurant's site is hard to find for English speakers and I believe that's why there are no English language reviews. That's a pitty because this is a wonderful place. It was recommended to us by the Concierge at the Conrad Hotel and it did not dissapoint. Run by Kikkoman since 1974, this restaurant shows the precision, detail and high quality of Teppanyakki cooking. Scallops were amazing, and beef filet top quality and perfectly cooked. The way the shrimp were cut and presented was a site to see. The ice cream dessert delicious. Cook and waiters spoke enough English to keep things interesting. Don't expect Benihanas high flying knife nonsense, but rather an expert and precise cook in front of you. Make a reservation, when we went restaurant was packed. I suggest early dinner (twilight menu), it's cheaper and you are assured a seat by the grill.
