“Great location, fantastic service, and a lot of value”
Reviewed July 14, 2013

This is a pretty well known chain in the Tokyo area - this one in Hakozaki is pretty good.

I pay around 6,000yen and get a regular room in the main building (there are ones in the second wing, but I have never stayed there).

All the reception staff speak fluent English and they are always very helpful and attentive. The rooms are small, but clean and efficient. You can tell the rooms were very well thought out because even though it is small, it is functional.

The best part about this place is probably the location. It is a 1-2min walk from T-CAT (bus terminal that has direct buses to Haneda and Narita Airport). There's also a great ramen shop across the street from the hotel called Kitakata Ramen and also 2 convenience shops nearby where I usually stock up when I check-in.

Also, if you have a business trip within Japan, it's close to Tokyo station where the bullet trains stop. Less than 10min by car or a few metro stops by train.

If you're not going to spend that much time in the room, this place is it - you've got access to Tokyo station, metro stations, and T-CAT. The only problem is that it is sometimes difficult to book because it seems to be always full/nearly full. Better to book in advance.

Room Tip: I always get the non-smoking standard room in the main building.

I stayed there for a week, defiently a place I would go back to!
Prime location, near the subway and TCAT. Easy access from the airport.
Stuff were super friendly, even though their English was horrible! Somehow we managed to overcome the communication problems, and had a great stay.

Room was very nice, clean and equipped. Nearby there is a 7Eleven shop, decent prices for prepared hot meals after you come back from a long travel day.

The great advantage is being near the TCAT (Tokyo City Air Terminal) and the metro station, Suitengomae.
The rooms are comfortable, well equipped, great soundproofing from inside and outside, AC functioned perfectly and they offer a nice pajama. The disadvantage is the size, it is quite small, not much space to have two big pieces of luggage.
The cable connection to the netbook was very good but the Wifi failed multiple times.
The breakfast is not so great and sometimes there aren't any seats available, but the food quality was good.
The ratio Price/Quality was very good.

We stayed there in May 2013 for a week and we enjoyed our stay. The location is very good (1 minute walk from Suitengumae metro station). The neighborhood is very quiet (business neighborhood) but if you walk a few minutes on the main street, you will find a lot of restaurants.
The room was small but cozy. After a little mistake on our side, we ended up with a smoking room, but after a few hours the smell wore off.
There was free wireless, but in the lobby only (you have to ask for the password at the reception desk and it's valid for 3 days).
Breakfast was included. It was not amazing and the tables were packed, but considering it was free, we can't complain.

Room Tip: If you don't smoke ask for a non-smoking room. We had a room on the last floor and it was very...

Stayed here for 2 nights in May 2013. The hotel was within walking distance from Tokyo Air City Terminal and Suitengumae Station. The room was small. Maybe not suitable for people who travelling with big luggage. The amenities was good, they provided pajamas too. Complimentary breakfast was simple but it’s enough until lunch time. The staffs were nice and friendly. I would reccomend this hotel.

This time, I would like to share experience during my visit in Tokyo, in late March 2013, with my parents (Sakura season) : We stayed a total of six (6) nights. Upon our arrival in Tokyo Narita Airport, we took a metro ride to Oshiage Sta. (famous for its Tokyo Sky Tree tower). Once we arrived in Oshiage Sta., we changed to Hanzomon (Z or purple) line to Suitengumae Sta. (Z 10) where we got off.

We immediately walked towards exit 2 and took the stairs up to the street level where we would see 7-Eleven shop in our right hand side (TCAT would be in our left side). Once we were in the street level, we kept walking straight towards the crossing pedestrian. As we were standing and waiting to cross the street, 7-Eleven shop (in a corner) would be right behind us, TCAT would be in our left side (across from 7-Eleven; located in a corner). From the point where we were standing, we could easily see a police station across from TCAT.

When we crossed the street, we kept walking straight (away from 7-Eleven), but we did not go in the direction towards TACT or police station. Once you crossed the street, turned right and kept walking (+/- 50 m) for another block. Then, you would see the hotel situated in the right hand side of a small street. The hotel apparently has changed its name to Hotel Villa Fontaine NIHOMBASHI HAKOZAKI. That's why, I have difficulty in finding this hotel in Tripadvisor as it is still listed under its old (previous) name.

Check-in was prompt and efficient and within ten minutes from our arrival, we already reached our room. Our rooms seemed to be small at first but if you were familiar with hotel standards in Tokyo in particular, and Japan in general, then you would definitely agree that the room size in this hotel actually was standard as space was definitely scarce all over the country.

In my opinion, without a doubt, our rooms were clean and well maintained. Everything worked perfectly and functional as well. We found a small fridge in the room which was very useful for us and bathroom amenities were more than enough as they provided all what we needed such as comb, toothbrush, toothpaste, razor, body sponge, shampoo, body wash etc. plus pajamas in the room aside from complimentary tea.

The hotel also provided breakfast for free (yes, it's free) : I could not even remember any hotel in Japan would provide complimentary breakfast for their guests, in a night stay, for less than 10,000 Yen especially during high (Sakura) season. Although the quality and/or selection of complimentary breakfast might not up to someone's standard (yes the breakfast were simple foods) but at least it would keep our stomach full until lunch time. As for us, we had nothing to complaint about breakfast : Although the breakfast might not taste fantastic but it was quite acceptable.

However, the minus point was the seating area for breakfast was really small especially during high season where we might have to wait for several minutes in order to get an empty table. The hotel also provided maps showing where to find restaurants, convenience shops in the neighborhood as well as important places such as banks etc.

In summary, all of us really enjoyed our (6 nights) stay in this hotel : I'll definitely put this hotel on top of my priority whenever I visit Tokyo again in the future. Based on my (past) experience in visiting Japan in the past 20 years (I have visited more than 20 times), I comfortably say that I will personally recommend this hotel to every one who visits Tokyo for any occasion.

Room Tip: Try to get a room facing the street where you could see daily activities from there
