“Love the design and location!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 17, 2011

I have been to Tokyo maybe 20 times and recently found this boutique hotel and spent 3 nights there.

The hotel is stylishly decorated and conveniently located at the edge of Ginza. It’s about 8-10 minutes walk to any of the 3 subway stations nearby, with great shopping and dinning options in Ginza area (of course). It is also close to the famous Tsukiji market, so I can walk there for fresh sushi every morning (most restaurants close by 2 PM, I think).

Knowing to lower my expectation for room size in Tokyo, I booked a moderate twin room for 2. It’s not big, but the utilize-every-inch design makes the room more comfortable than its size suggests.

The only drawback is that the hotel doesn't have any meeting facilitiy for business travelers, so most just squeeze into the small cafe to chat business like I did.

Overall, a very good experience. It is my preferred hotel in Tokyo from now on.

This hotel was the last leg of our Japan trip having stayed at hotels in Hokkaido and Disneyland before arriving here for 3 nights. We were charged an additional amount for an adullt and one child despite us having booked 2 rooms as they insisted each room was only for 1 adult each. The staff at the reception were cold, indifferent annd even rude in demanding we pay up. We did so as we had no choice being we had already prepaid for 2 rooms at 3 nights. The hotel also says it's non-smoking but the hallway and rooms reeked of cigarette smoke. We definitely won't be back here.

Stayed at the Mitsui recently for 3 nights. It is located in the lovely district of Ginza, close to great shops and restaurants. Hotel is located within an easy 5 minute walk of 3 subway stations and only a 20 minute walk from Tokyo station if arriving on the bullet train. Decor of the hotel is modern and trendy and as it only starts from the 16th floor, has fantastic views. Rooms are incredibly clean and quite roomy by Japanese standards. Bathroom had a great shower head and lovely products were supplied. Tea and coffee making facilities were available in the room as well as complimentary bottled water and internet (wired, not wi-fi). Bed and pillows were a little hard for my taste but we still got a good nights sleep. Very quiet, no noise could be heard from other rooms. The staff were very friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will be back next time we return to Tokyo.

We spent 8 nights in the Mitsui Garden Hotel.
The location is amazing right in the heart of Ginza. Overall hotel is nicely decorated, straight from Wallpaper magazine.
The staff is helpful and trendy. The hotel has a great little bar (smoking) and a restaurant.
Located on the 16th floor the view on Tokyo tower is just amazing at night.
The room is small (but small rooms are to be expected in cities like NYC or Tokyo) but nicely decorated.
The bathtub has a view on the city and at night this is just magical.
Overall good value for money.

Cons:
The mattress is hard, pillow are super hard
No Wifi available in rooms or lobby, very disappointing for a hotel of this standard.

Although classified as a medium class hotel we thought it was more like a first class hotel.Smart contemporary decor and friendly staff in an excellent location just a couple of minutes walk fromt the main Ginza shopping area. Highly recommended.

This hotel has become my choice for my business trip to Tokyo. I have been going there 4 times a year for the past 4 years.
It's easy access from the airport with airport limousine bus. A short walk to both train/subway station for Shinbashi and Ginza.
The reception on 16th floor lounge area is great with comfy sofas and great view. I always make sure to sit down for a little while to enjoy Tokyo tower.
I love their breakfast with organic salad bar, it's a great start of the day. Also this restaurant is on 16th floor with a great view.
The hotel is modern architecture with some great arts decoration.
I love that you can see the out side view from your bathroom.
The bed is a very good quality, coming from NY and with a bad jet-lag I need a good bed to have a decent sleep and this one is pretty good. I am picky for bed.
The single room is kind of small but over all you can't really beat the value with the price.
Only thing, I'd wish is if they had a room service.
But I like this hotel a lot and would recommend for anyone who are looking for a good value with a very reasonable price.

+ Location: Close to Ginza street, good view from the hotel's lobby
+ Welcome & check in: friendly, fast
+ Concierge: even bought baseball tickets for us
+ Room: small, but stylish

- Bed: was hard (but typical for Japan)
- Expensive bar & restaurant (but normal due to exchange rate)
