“Very good location and decent and nice hotel”
Reviewed May 23, 2014

Just like the other reviewers mentioned, the hotel has a great location where it is just outside of Hanzomon subway station. I like the area too, very quiet and not so crowded, simply nice. There are convenience stores about walking distance from the hotel.

The lobby is average, small but functional and clean. Hotel reception is efficient. Although one or two associates we have spoken had a some difficulty in communicating in English but nothing serious. The service was still good.

The room for our first night had a smaller bed, which was what we really booked anyway. They offered an upsell to upgrade to a room with a bigger bed (at just additional 1000Yen/night). But we did not get as we thought we would be okay anyway. So having a 1.85m tall person, the bed was a little cramped. We decided to upgrade to a bigger bed but the hotel staff did not promise to be able to deliver as the hotel was fully booked. The wifi of this room 836 was weak.

The next morning, I requested at the reception to have our room change. Despite a little struggling in communication at first, the associate informed me that they would transfer our things to the new room but at a later time - after usual checkout time. So we left the hotel early but came home very late. True to the staff's promise, we were assigned in another room with a bigger bed. The room was 802 and the wifi was stronger here.

Both rooms are clean and smells new. The furniture and bed are good. The toilets in both rooms are quite nice even though small in size. The toiletries provided are good as well - they provide bath sponge. They provide cotton pajamas too.

I am just disappointed with the very limited tv channels available.

But other than that, the hotel is good for us.

Room Tip: If you booked a smaller double bed 140 cm at first and offered to upgrade to a 160cm bed, get it sin...

This hotel has a great location. Take exit 5 for the Hanzomon metro and you are right in front of the hotel. The metro can take you almost anywhere in the city in minutes. Quiet neighborhood with local restaurants and shops. 7-11 convenience store is within steps for any quick needs. Hotel is clean and average. Staff is friendly. At a good price, this could be a great choice.

It is a traditional Japanese hotel, so the rooms are smaller and will have limited services compared to large western brand hotels. As many others have highlighted, it is close to restaurants, right next to the subway, the 7-11 next door has an ATM machine and it has free high speed wireless. The only downsides are the stiff pillows, no safety deposit boxes in the rooms and no gym in the hotel. If you are travelling on business or passing through on a tour, nothing bad to worry about, but it is not a 5 star western hotel either.

Good hotel at a good location, right across the street from a metro station. Very nice entry hall, quite small rooms but clean rooms. Good wifi service. Near imperial palace and shops are nearby (small supermarkets). Only downpoint: rock hard pillows. Cartilage of my ears hurt after each night.

Room Tip: Please replace the pillows by softer pillows. I had to sleep on my own clothes for a pillow.

The first thing you notice upon entering the hotel is the very chic interiors.
Check-in was fast & no frills.
Room is small but sufficient & very clean.
The upside in staying here is the location which is just across the Hanzomon MRT line. Another is the close proximity to a mini-mart and right beside a small restaurant which serves really good food.

Room Tip: It would be good to ask for a room in the same floor which has a machine that dispenses non-alcoholi...

A nice place in Tokyo just in front of the Hanzomon subway station. Very quiet and comfortable and of course very clean (you are in Tokyo). The breakfast is buffet style and very good and will cost you 2100 yens.

The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Tokyo close to the imperial palace gardens, and a pleasant walk down-hill to the Central Rail Station in Central Nihonbashi. It is directly opposite Hanzomon underground. There is a good choice of local restaurants, cafes and bars and several 24 hour convenience stores and fast food outlets. It is a quiet and pleasant residential district.

Unfortunately despite my request I was placed in a smoking room; this is not the first time this has happened to me travelling in Japan. The room reeked of cigarette smoke. I was dismayed at having to pay an upgrade to another available non smoking room, and was not in any position to argue the point further, being tired from a 12 hour flight and the poor english standard of the check-in desk would have made any further discussion a fruitless pursuit.

The room otherwise was small (average size for Tokyo), clean and well equipped with tea, coffee, linen and toiletries. The Wifi was free and reception was good. The television showed only Japanese channels.

Adequate, but a previous stay in Grand Arc Hanzomon around the corner offers a much more pleasant experience and better value in a similar price bracket.
