I really enjoyed staying in this hotel. Staff at the hotel was quite friendly, hotel is located just two stops from Tokyo station, so it is perfectly situated for business travelers. Surrounding area is also nice, there are many restaurants and bars nearby. Only minus is size of the room and sound insulation.

I chose this hotel for the location and reasonable price at first. The front desk clerk noticed that I traveled with my sister. She suggested the lady's floor room, which only female guest can access the floor with special card and allows to enter the door to access the floor. We decided to stay the room on the lady's-only-floor. The room is clean and nice. The bathroom has nice beauty good gift such as facial serum mask sheet! I actually loved it while we stayed. They have healthy buffet restaurant inside the hotel. It seems famous in Tokyo area. There were a lot of people lined up in front of the restaurant before lunch hour. We ate breakfast there. They have an excellent selections of healthy food both Japanese and Western style breakfast!!! I think it cannot be compared with 5 star hotel breakfast! It was very nice. The location is excellent, You can walk to next station Akihabara. The near train station, Ochyanomizu on Yamanote line is 2 min away from the hotel. You can go to Tokyo, Shibuya, Shinjyuku, and anywhere popular in Tokyo easily! We enjoyed nice Bath place which is located next door to the hotel. They open 24 hours. If you want to relax and want to feel like enjoying onsen, you should go to bath place next door! I love this hotel.

Room Tip: Should go to Ofuroya (great bath place) which opens 24 hours on the first day! If you are women, as...

I have been to Japan 11 times and have stayed at Hotel Juraku on many of those visits. The Hotel was renovated nearly 3 years including the dining room. It is an excellent hotel and a great location with easy access to all major tourist attractions in Tokyo. You have access to 4 different train lines all within a 6 -7 mins walk from the Hotel. All the rooms are immaculately clean with great beds and with everything you could possibly need including a complimentary bottle of mineral water in your room each day. Vending machines on every level if you would like a beer in your room or other drinks and all at reasonalbe prices.
Rooms are not huge which is the case for most hotels in Japan unless of course you want to pay 25,000 yen plus, then you can get a bigger room. Value for money this Hotel represents a great option with the best service at reception with some english speaking staff. All the cleaning staff also speak to you in the morning and enjoy a laugh. Ask for Erina Takahashi who is always happy to assist and provide advice. Breakfast has to be one of the great breakfasts in Tokyo and so reasonably priced ...the options are huge and it has one the largest choices of both Western and Japanese food..only minor issue is sometimes you cant get toast however there are so many other choices so you dont miss it.
You are also close to Akihabara " Electric Town" where you can spend hours looking at the latest in technology. Easy access to Edo Museum and only 4 stops away using the Marounchi line to Ginza which has to be one of the great shopping destinations in the world.Go there on a Sunday if you can as the main street is closed to cars and they create a pedestrian mall, also stay into the night, have dinner so you can see the lights. Just a rail tip when travelling from Tokyo station is to take the Marounchi line (cant use your JR pass) however you have access to a lift when you arrive at the station so you dont have to carry bags up steps. If you have only a small bag then use the Chuo line (can use your JR pass) 2 stops away however stairs to climb. Both are just a short downhill walk to hotel.
Hope you enjoy as much as I do as it ticks all the boxes and is great value for money. Another tip is the Kanda Bathouse that is just behind the hotel in the back street...try the turbo seat, great after a long day of walking...and no swimsuit thank you.

Room Tip: As the single rooms are on the smaller size suggest you take a double room for single use or if you...

I haven't stayed at many hotels in Tokyo, usually I'm housed at an Institute. So this was different. This hotel underwent a renovation spring 2009, make sure you get the correct website (http://www.juraku.com/ocha/english1/index.html). Walking distance to the Imperial Palace area, electric city; Ochanomizu station and others within a few blocks get to you almost any train/subway line easily. So, the area was very convenient for any visit to Tokyo (business or pleasure).

Other notes: non-smoking floors are 4,9,10,11; request 10 or 11 if you want to make sure smoke doesn't waft up. and it will. Internet decently fast & free, but bring a cable (they supply, but it's very short). Windows are fairly good sound-proofing and open-able making for decent temperature management; but the double/twin rooms are near the trains, and I mean really near the trains (convergence of 3 lines right below your window) and it was often a choice of LOTS of noise or stuffy room. For the single rooms, the window is porportionally large (rooms are small), but for twin room the single window is 1/3 of width of the room, seemed very very small and let very little light into room. Still, there was a very good light-blocking shade if you need darkness to sleep.

The breakfast all-you-can-eat buffet has big selection -- japanese, western, mix & match, even multiple espresso machines. It doesn't change (much), and got a bit old after 6 days. Still, very easy
to get your fill and vary it a bit. A lot of fresh fruit, bread, 3 kinds of rice, noodles, 2 kinds of soups, smoked salmon, other fish, etc.

There are convenience stores are in the area, but no larger grocery.

The "see-through" windows to bathroom -- has a shade (privacy is not a problem), but even through the shade the bathroom light will wake up a sleeping partner. Bring a night-light. The bathroom was fine, plenty of hot water, tall enough for a 2m-tall gaijin, hairdryer, complimentary toothbrushes, shampoo, etc.

There was very little room to store clothes: 2 small hooks in the double room (2 people),
no dresser. Removed tea/etc stuff to have a shelf to put clothes on. Room had a fridge, hotpot for water, selection of tea.

Annoyance: their laundry service charged me 200Y each extra for my (men's style button-down shirts)
vs. my partner's (men's style button-down shirts).

Overall convenient, good deal, all amenities, easy access to breakfast, but could be noisy and a bit dark
