We stayed at this hotel at the beginning and end of our Japan vacation in May. It is ideally located for exploring Tokyo. Two subway stations with access to five different lines are located right outside, and there are numerous restaurants within easy walking distance. I highly recommend the Daidaya restaurant on the top floor of the Bellevue building, about a five minute walk from the hotel. Japanese fusion cuisine with great service and private tatami mat rooms.
The rooms at this hotel are large by Tokyo standards, and they come well-equipped with toiletries and great-smelling bath products. We stayed in the garden tower, which has great city and garden views, and is far cheaper than the rooms in the main building. We loved the beautiful Japanese garden with the waterfall and koi ponds. We ate breakfast at the hotel every day at the restaurant overlooking the garden, which has great views and a reasonably priced a la carte menu (as well as a full buffet).
In my opinion, the best thing about this hotel was the very attentive staff. Service standards are very high in Japan in general, and this hotel was especially good. The concierge desk was a wonderful resource for getting directions, making restaurant reservations, and even getting us baseball tickets for a game at the Tokyo dome.
If you're traveling throughout Japan, be sure to take advantage of the very reliable luggage concierge service available through the bell staff at all major Japanese hotels. The shinkansen (bullet train) does not have room to store large pieces of luggage, but the luggage service will ship your bags overnight to your next hotel for a very reasonable price. We paid about $35 US to ship two large suitcases (well worth it!).
