“Fantastic hotel!”
Reviewed December 13, 2010

Just ended my stay in Tokyo with this hotel! We had an awesome stay with the hotel, with clean rooms and friendly hotel staff. The hotel is located pleasantly on the Hanzomon line on the tokyo metro station, so getting everywhere was no hassle for us. The view the hotel staff gave us was also what we wanted! We had a fantastic view overlooking Tokyo on the 7th floor. It was also extremely value for money as the rooms were quite spacious as compared to other hotels in Japan so it worked out fine for our family of 3.
There was also small mini marts and shops located near the hotel so getting food was not a problem.

Very comfortable hotel, clean, classy, couldn't recommend it more for its price. Were it not for the small Tokyo-sized room I would say it actually deserves a 4-star rating. As it was, the room size was still much larger than all the other hotels I looked at in the same price range; it was perfectly roomy for one person. My room was billed as 'semi-double', whatever that is, fine for one person but would be bit of a squeeze for two. You can see for yourself if you go the hotel homepage - the room looks exactly like it does in the photo. Bathroom was fine, very clean, water was hot and shower was high pressure. Provided big bottles of shampoo/conditioner/shower gel. I rate hotels by their bathrooms and on the basis of this one, it's a big thumbs up. The hotel itself, though not a luxury hotel, was obviously a class establishment. A fairly busy venue for functions and weddings; many smartly dressed Japanese milling about the lobby/elevators. The function rooms are all on the lower floors though so my room was very quiet. Didn't have much occasion to speak to hotel staff but they were perfectly helpful when I did; provided a helpful little map of the local area with restaurants and convenience stores marked out. And that's actually all there is in the vicinity: small restaurants and convenience stores. Definitely not the hotel for people who want to be in the thick of it all. I think the area was more of a business/commercial district. The metro station is a minute walk away though so it's fine if you plan to travel daily anyway. The nearest metro is Hanzomon station on the Hanzomon line. I found I changed lines daily at the next station along, Nagatacho (also connected to Akasaka-mitsuke), so it would have been perfect if the hotel had been nearer that station but the Tokyo metro system is very convenient so it wasn't really a problem. (Tip: Tokyo stations are big so get the right exit!) So the location is probably the thing I liked least as it wasn't very interesting but in return you get a quiet and very safe neighbourhood right in the middle of the city next to the Imperial Palace. Best thing about my room was the glorious view. The hotel rooms have huge picture windows and the view is great day and night with Tokyo Tower twinkling in the distance. One suggestion mentioned in other reviews that I'll repeat is to get a taxi to the hotel instead of braving the metro - like I said before, Tokyo stations are big with many flights of stairs and long passageways; if you don't like lugging luggage around I wouldn't recommend it. I came from Haneda and got the airport bus (900 Yen) to Tokyo station, then a taxi from there (around 1500 yen). Tokyo taxis are expensive so this was the only time I took them. Airport bus drops off and leaves from the Yaesu exit side of Tokyo station (Tokyo station is huge and has 2 main exits).

We got a great offer from Hotels.com for seven nights and because the reviews were so favourable, decided to choose this hotel in Tokyo. The hotel is a very large building with many floors and it is situated in Chyoda less than a five minute walk from Hanzomon metro station. If you arrive from Narita, you will get to this hotel quickly from Tokyo station by taxi.

The room itself was extremely clean with great views to the royal palace park. The bed was a bit small (120 cm wide) but otherwise the room had all the necessities, trouser iron to a blowdrier. There was even a bathtub in the bathroom (and of course a heated toiled seat ring). You can buy water and drinks from an automatic dispenser in every floor. The staff was very friendly (as expected in Japan).

Great hotel in every aspect and highly recommended !!

There are some good rates currently on this hotel, and while it is a little away from the hot spots it is still in a nice location. Overlooking the Palace with great views of the CBD. Room size is adequate and everything is in good order. Palace grounds a good walk, with Modern Art Gallery, National Theatre (try a bit of Kabuki!) next door. Good veriety of food outlets, metro handy to all hot locations. We enjoyed our stay very much.

The only real critic of this hotel is the room size (quite small), as most of japanese hotels. The rest is perfect:nice room furniture (the hotel looks very new), perfect service, good breckfast (just american, not buffet, but perfectly done!). The hotel has 3 restaurants, very good ones; the rooms have nice views, an is placed in a nice place, close to the Imperial Palace; there is a subway entrance at just 100 mts.
Very good option in Tokio

Stayed in the hotel for 4 nights. I was surpise with the fact that the hotel room was massive, 4 times bigger than our previous hotel room in Shinjuku. I got a 50% discount because I booked the hotel almost 6 months in advance. for 75 Euros a night this hotel was an amazing deal, It is extremly clean and everything in the room was new. Free internet in the room. We had a room in the 12th floor , the views of Tokyo were amazing. Didnt try the restaurants in the hotel so I cant comment. The are is dead in the night, you have to take underground to go to Shibuya for dinner/drinks out. The Hanzomon train station is very close to the hotel but is not linked to the main JR circular line. Transport wasnt really a big problem but I personally prefer to stayin Shinjuku and Shibuya to avoid taking taxis at night. Overall very good hotel.

Stayed for 8 nights at The Grand Arc, fantastic hotel with great room, very helpful staff most spoke English. They even checked me in early, just what i need after a long flight! I was given a room on the 10th floor, amazing views across Tokyo. The hotel has about 3 restaurants and a great bar, which had great views across Tokyo, great place to grab a quiet drink before bed!

Rooms are clean and well looked after, great facilities and cosy after a day walking round Tokyo.

The hotel really is only about 5 minutes walk from the metro, the surrounding area isn't great, there isn't many bars or restaurants in the area, but with the metro so near and cheap you can soon get to the main sights very quickly. The Hanzomon stop is usually only one change from from some of the main sights and like everything in Tokyo the metro is super quick and always on time and really easy to understand.

Highly recommend the hotel, which I would class as a 4 star hotel. great rooms, fantastic views and really helpful staff.
