Royal treatment in Japan

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Oct 28, 2012
Was here on a business trip last May-June 2010. The hotel is strategically located in the center of the business district, but still a short walk away from the shopping district and restaurants. The rooms were very spacious, clean and well maintained. In true Japanese fashion, the bathroom is an attraction on its own with temperature controls for toilet bedet, water level and temp control on the tub, fully automated toilet seat controls, etc. The visit was an absolute delight.

This hotel was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and many celebrities and politicians have stayed there. You can understand why. In addition to the usual excellent service provided in most establishments in Japan, it offers plush comfort, rooms that are large by Tokyo standards, and even a decent size swimming pool. It's worth the expensive rate at least for the first night of a business trip, to sleep off your jet lag and prepare for meetings.

I was particularly amazed by the service (hospitality), professionality and friendliness of their staff. From reception, bell boy, waitress, security, etc -everyone was very helpful and friendly. I was told it is the oldest hotel in Tokyo and still one of the best, and among the most expensive. I had bento for lunch, it was special! I had dinner at the Nadaman Japanese Cuisine (one floor below the lobby, at the arcade), and the dinner there was also special! Must try. I attended event at the ballroom in the hotel, they served one of the best roast beef. Very special.

Loved my stay at the Imperial. Comfortable rooms with very good bedding. Bathroom very adequate. Many restyaurants to choose from. Location excellent near the Ginza where I had many meetings. Near subway connections. Many shops in the lobby although quite pricey. Overall a great place to stay while in Tokyo as liong as the high prices dont bother you.

Concierge very helpfull. All staff very professional with perfect English. Surely will return when in Tokyo again.

The Imperial Hotel is a classic and the service is excellent. The rooms are not small, but are a bit dated. TV channels don't offer a lot of variety, and that is surprising in such a hotel. Location is excellent, close to Ginza and many subway stations. A couple of tips: they charge for the use of the gym. If you don't want to pay, you should become a member of their membership program (it's free!), which will also allow you to have a late check out.

The hotel was beautiful although a much older dated style. Room was nice, good sized bathroom and comfortable bed. Nothing overly spectacular about the room but was in a great location, easy access to Maronouchi and Ginza areas as well as the train station. By australian standards it is quite expensive however for Tokyo accomodation i think it was about average. The service was amazing and the hotel lobby bar was lovely, very relaxing and inviting for an after dinner drink or some afternoon tea. Very pleasant hotel and we are very pleased with our stay. Would certainly stay there again.
