A very big hotel but well kept with an outstanding service (as almost everywhere in Japan).
A special remark about the position which is the simply perfect: very central and close to many attractions like restaurants and bars, but at the same time very quiet thanks to the beutiful garden surrounding the Hotel.
Dont miss to pay a visit to the traditional japanese garden, inside the hotel's park

The New Otani is not dripping with over-the-top luxurious appointments, but you'll be more than comfortable in the spare, relatively large (for Japan) well-thought out rooms. Its hard to describe, but the fixtures, lighting, deep bathtubs are perfect for recovering from a long flight or day of business. With lots of competition in Tokyo, the New Otani especially excels at service. From the fabulous welcome on arrival, to very present management and helpful staff in all of the public areas, the New Otani is an easy place for newbies to Japan from which to explore. No matter what you need, want to know more about - in English or Japanese - New Otani staff go all out to help you. The main hotel restaurant has some Western style food - and despite our initial sticker shock at menu prices is a relatively good deal compared to other restaurants in Tokyo. With all that Tokyo has to offer, I wouldnt recommend eating there regularly but breakfast is good and the main restaurant is perfect when you've just arrived after a long flight and need to eat and then sleep.

Room Tip: Stroll in the lovely old Japanese garden helps jet lag recovery.

I hope the title does not offend. We had an excellend stay at the New Otani Tokyo, as part of our 12 day trip to Japan. As an American (standing at 6'4"), I was really worried about the accomodations, and it was especially important as we were travelling with an elderly and an infant. We wanted adjoining, and smoke free rooms were a must. The location is great, I am not really sure about some of the comments saying it is "not convenient". I am sure the definition is fairly subjective, but the subway is about a 5 minute walk, and to the JR line is about 10 mins - you are not going to find too much better, or if you do, you are certainly going to pay. Some recommendaitons are: to have better work out facilities (and not at the $40 USD charge (I did not use, I chose to run outside instead), and to have more "English" channels. Other than that, you are not going to find too many other comparable hotels. Service was excellent. Oh, and if you are in the US, use their NYC office to communicate - they are very helpful!

This is my first time staying at New Otani. Services provided by the staff was excellent. But location was not too convenient, it's quite a walk to subway and JR line especially if you were carrying a lot of stuff. The only problem I had was with the courier counter there, it was quite busy and I was in a rush, so it took a long time for my stuff to get sent. The concierge was very helpful in directing me around my business meetings. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
