My favourite place in the whole of Tokyo. Go to the huge Sega Arcade, play a few games of Tekken, or the latest Japanese arcade games. Walk around the many streets with shops selling all things electronic and I mean ALL things! Definitely have a look in the seven storey high Mandarake anime store which is basically seven floors of comics, yes you heard. Picked up some cool souvenirs here. Final thing you MUST do in Akihabara and the highlight for me was a visit to a Maid Cafe. You go in, take a seat and are served by a girl dressed as a french maid. It's all in good spirit and you can pay a small fee to play a game of rock scissors paper, hungry hippo's and other similar games with the maids. No photo's or Video's are usually allowed unless you pay another small fee. Worth a visit, great fun!

I don't understand some of the recent reviews for this place which give the impression that it is open. It is not. It is closed and has been since 6-Feb-12. There is no indication when it will reopen.
Currently there is absolutely nothing there to see.

When I was there on 27th May 2012, there was a flea market going on selling mostly anime/manga related goods and more than a few knick knacks. It wasn't there on the 25th when I was going to AKB48's cafe so I guess it's only there on Sundays (or certain Sundays).
