“Superb experience”

This is a gorgeous hotel, one of the very best city hotels I have ever stayed in. Everything was perfect. Great service at every stage, beautiful and serene common areas and gorgeous, slick, calm rooms. I stayed in a Club Deluxe room which was superb. The access to the facilities in the club lounge was excellent. Teppenyaki dinner at Suiren Restaurant was extremely good, and dinner at Star Hill Chinese restaurant also excellent. The prices to dine within the hotel though, are very high, but the food quality and service really shone through. Breakfast in Origami was also excellent, although the portions a little small for the Westaern palate. I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat, whether it be for business or pleasure. It's an oasis of calm in a great city. Absolutely wonderful.

I spent 5 nights int these hotel: and was really sad when I had to leave.
The hotel is simply perfect: nice location, perfect rooms, perfect service...
The hotel has a subway station under it: it is incredibly useful. On the same level(you reach it with an elevator of the hotel) you will find a 7Eleven.
If you walk 5/10 minutes from the hotel you will find an incredible number of restaurants of all price ranges.
From the hotel you can easily walk to Ginza, Roppongi, Imperial Palace....
Breakfast is of good quality bur expensive and only a la carte.

At the 27/28/29 florrs there's the club floor. If you stay at these floors you have a lounge where to have complimentary drinks and snacks. If you book at these floors breakfast is included ;)

The husband had a choice of staying in the Imperial or the Capitol Tokyu for 16 nights for a super huge business meeting. He had stayed at the Imperial twice in the planning of this big conference, so he chose the Capitol Tokyu. His reasoning: 1) much bigger room at the CHT; 2) much better air conditioning; 3) MUCH better room wi-fi; 4) fabulously better shower room; 5) much nicer room decor; 6) better view.

We stayed in a deluxe King room. The bed is HUGE and super comfortable - the room gorgeous. I want this beautiful, serene room for my own home. And the combo bathtub/shower room is FANTASTIC: a classic rainforest overhead shower as well as a detachable handshower - both with amazing pressure. The separate lavatory room is the height of high-tech Toto - with all the bells and whistles. A bit intimidating until one tries everything out and realizes there is true comfort there!

The service here is delightful and attentive. After the first day, the bell captain called me by name and handed me an umbrella with the admonition that it was going to rain; he was quite correct. Room service is fast. The Origami restaurant is beautiful but spendy. The Suiren Japanese Restaurant is expensive but offers really quite lovely sushi - worth the price for a special night out. We ate at the counter of only 8 seats and had an extraordinary meal.

16 nights is a very long time to stay in one hotel. While the restaurants are very expensive, the coffee shop on the subway level is charming and extremely reasonable. GREAT coffee and toast! The 7-11 next door became my best friend when I would come back after a day of sightseeing via the multiple subway lines right at my doorstep. The Sanno Park Tower, rigtht next door to the hotel, offeres a great number of dining options (M-F) at all price ranges. And fab food is just a subway ride away in almost any direction.

The CHT was a refuge from very long days - and some long nights - of work for my husband. I found comfort and security for myself here as well. I was so glad not to be in the middle of the hubbub of Ginza or other high-energy areas. Transportation is so easy from here.

I just don't want to leave.

Booked this hotel after having read reviews on Tripadvisor. The hotel met my high expectations.
Nice rooms - particularly the combined bath and shower was great
Great bed
Very silent
Very service minded staff
Four subway lines in the basement
Short walk to the buzzling nightlife and all the restaurants in Akasaka.

A tip is to enrol in their member program called Comfort which gives you a good discount. I payed about 340$/night for a double. They claimed that the regular price was almost 100$
The restaurants are ok but pretty boring. Breakfast is best to take somewhere else. There is a coffee shop on your way down to the subway that offers a decent breakfast fast and for a fraction of the prize.

To summarize great hotel for business or pleasure.

The hotel seems to target mainly business travelers with deep pockets, but actually have a lot to offer also to private weekend travelers. The Hotel connects in the basement level to four subway lines and offers in my view a great location for exploring the city by tube and foot. The area where it is located gets quiet in weekends since there are many government buildings around, but you can reach more busy areas by foot or a quick subway ride. Service and rooms are great and well in line with what to expect from a hotel in this price range. If you get a weekend discount it is s bargain! Only minus is that restaurants and the bar close quite early. You can forget a nightcap at the hotel bar when returning from a dinner in the city, the bar will have closed. Also, breakfast is quite pricy, but on the other hand, you are in tokyo so there is no need to have breakfast in the hotel when there are so many other placed around.

For 20 years I have been staying at the Imperial hotel on my business trips to Japan. This time, for the first time, I stayed at The Capitol instead. How do they compare?

1) Location. Imperial wins. (Within walking distance of Tokyo station, opposite the beautiful Hibya Park and near many excellent restaurants in the Ginza)
2) Service. Imperial wins. (The Imperial is a much larger hotel so it has more amenities (wider selection of room service options, gift wrapping service, newsagent store, drug store etc.)
3) Running. Imperial wins. (The Imperial is slightly nearer the 5K running circuit round the Imperial Palace and you can immediately start your run in a park setting by running through Hibya Park).
4) Sauna. Imperial wins. (The Imperial's sauna, gym and swimming pool are free to executive club members (which itself is free) whereas the Capitol's sauna costs over Y2,000 per visit).
5) Rooms. Imperial wins. (I prefer the Imperial's refurbished rooms in the main wing over the Capitol's rooms as the quality of the carpet, curtains, furniture and bed are higher. It's also possible to get rooms overlooking greenery rather than overlooking Tokyo's featureless skyline).
6) General ambience. Imperial wins. (The Imperial looks and feels like a buzzing, well-established hotel with a spacious lobby where businessmen greet each other, wedding parties assemble at weekends etc. Great for people watching).

....so the Imperial wins comprehensively. However, the Capitol is a very good hotel in its own right. The hotel is brand new, the views from the bedrooms are great, the showers are amazing, the Origami restaurant is very good, the service is good and the location is fairly convenient. I'd recoomend it and happily stay again.

Room Tip: Probably best to get a room facing west so that you can enjoy watching the sunset.

Went here for a corporate meeting. In a bustling city like Tokyo, Capitol is a great catch. Company initially negotiated with a nearby hotel, now we're all dealt to stay in Capitol everytime we have our semi annual holdings. It's a good thing
