We had dinner at Brasserie VIRON next to Tokyo Station before going to see a concert at the nearby Tokyo International Forum, and it was an excellent experience.

The service was spot-on. Very attentive, efficient and friendly waiters that explained items on the menu with great detail and timed the delivery of the orders perfectly, after asking whether we were going to a concert afterwards, and confirming the time we would have to leave the restaurant.

After we had decided on one starter (to be shared) and two main dishes, it was also kindly pointed out that the meat portions were quite big (200-250g), and that most customers were going for two starters and one shared main dish instead.
If they were only out to make money, they would just have taken our orders, and we would have ended up with lots of left-overs, because as it turned out, one main dish was in fact perfectly sufficient for the two of us, after one starter dish each (fresh white asparagus - absolutely delicious!). So we were very glad that this had been pointed out to us!

The main dish (veal in a mushroom sauce) was also cooked to perfection, and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

It is not easy in Japan to find a French restaurant with really good bread, which is delivered to the table automatically (as it is in France), rather than having to order it extra. Here you can have as much bread as you like, and it tastes like heaven.

Excellent choice of wines, also by the carafe, which is important for us, because a full bottle would be too much before a concert. Very often, the selection of wines on offer by the carafe is disappointigly limited, so another plus point here.

The whole experience left us deeply satisfied, and without burning a hole into our wallet, as it didn't seem overpriced at all for what we got. I can think of plenty of French restaurants in Tokyo where the service is not nearly as good, portions small, and you end up paying quite a bit more, leaving you with a feeling that you didn't get your money's worth. But certainly not here!

I'm not fond of Japanese food so when I saw the display of breads and pastries at Viron I was ready to have lunch there, forget the expense. The service was very attentive, the food was tasty and I had my favorite dessert, a baba au rhum. I was happy that day in Tokyo.

Be sure to make a reservation or go around 11:20, otherwise you need to wait for a long time...
The dishes, ordered Fish was OK. As it is lunch time so it must be cooked to serve quickly.
The tastes are Ok, but a expensive a bit compared the quality of dishes.

It had wonderful reviews, but the place was such a disappointment. $56 later, I left this place hungry and annoyed - we went for lunch and really had great expectations, but the cream of mushroom soup was bland and mostly cream flavored. The today's tartine I am still digesting and not happy about it. The baguette was good. The staff spoke maybe 2 words to us - really awful experience. We went downstairs to the bakery and it looked much better than the bistro upstairs. Got a sandwich since we were still hungry - the sandwich was good. Save yourself a disappointment and just go to the bakery and skip the bistro.

This French-Japanese brasserie always has great food. The service is always very good. Because of the large glass wall, the interior is light and cheerful.

Very close to Tokyo Station. Highly recommended.
