I have been to Maharaja a couple of times and the food is very good and almost close to authentic Indian food. They have a good choice of food and the pricing is reasonable compared to other Indian restaurants in Tokyo. The location is ideal and easily accessible.
The bread (specially the phulkas) are made fresh and tastes very good. There is also a good choice of drinks available. If you are alone then you can take a thali (served for one person) and has both vegetarian and non-vegetarian option.

We went to this restaurant for a business lunch in late August 2010. After eating a lot of sushi and beef, I wanted to get something with vegetarian options. Our local host suggested this place. It is in one of the underground passageways around the main Tokyo train station and close to the Marunouchi South exit from the station.
I thought the prices were reasonable and the food quality was excellent. Several people had the Maharaja special that came with sheekh kabob, lamb curry, tandoori chicken, rice, and naan for about 1200 yen. They also had a Maharaja Delight that had a little more meat. There was also a vegetarian combination that came with lightly battered vegetables (cauliflower) and a vegetarian curry.
You can also buy curry a la carte. The butter chicken masala was very popular at our table and ran 380 yen.
We also had a mango lassi that was good.
It's not a fancy restaurant but it's no dive either. Just a sterile environment with a few Indian pictures on the wall. There were no cloth napkins. Same goes for the service. They bring you the food and they're polite but not effusive.
The restaurant is very popular. In addition to the lunch crowd in the restaurant, there was a line for their "to go" bento box.
