“I Miss the Massage Chairs”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

...really, they are a great perk, and my wife and I spent our last hour in the hotel just chillin' in the chairs. The hotel itself is in a relatively quiet area within walking distance of the Tokyo Dome and Akihabara, and the convenience store (inexpensive goodies abound) just makes it better. For a budget-minded couple or single traveler, the Niwa is an excellent choice for the Chiyoda area.

Tip: the hot water kettles in the rooms are lifesavers for the jet-lagged coffee lover. It may not be the best coffee in the world, but the little instant coffee packets at the 24 hour convenience store scratch that itch.

Other pluses: good wireless connectivity, and excellent wired ethernet.

This hotel is amazing.

Location: when I booked it my husband asked, 'is it in the middle of the city?' My answer was 'Tokyo is vastly bigger than Sydney so you aren't going to be close to everything you want to see'. But with this hotel's location you really do have great access to everything - 5mins to Suidobashi which takes you to shinjuku and akihabara. 10 mins walk to jimbocho which takes you straight to otemachi and shibuya. Loads of great eateries near the hotel also.

Rooms: we booked a basic twin for 3 nights for an excellent price. On arrival we had the option to upgrade for 3000Y per night. This was great as it gave baby and I a lot more room in the bed and he had more crawl space. The room was exceptionally clean and quite spacious compared to other Japanese hotels.

Hotel: as we were staying here after a week of fitting as much Japan in as possible, my legs were exhausted so loved the massage chairs!

Its a great hotel and great value for money. Clean, modern, quiet, and very comfortable hotel. Staff are friendly and speak good english. The free massage chairs on level 3 are awesome! The hotel has free wifi but it is unreliable in the rooms and cuts out a lot. The location is good - a short walk to suidobashi station, however the area lacks nightlife atmosphere, with limited restaurants and bars, but you can easily get elsewhere by train or taxi.

Hotel Niwa is a quiet oasis in the raging torrent of experiences that is Tokyo. Situated in quiet Sudiobashi, both JR-station for trains and metro station is in close proximity, enabling you to explore Tokyo with ease. Personally I would have preferred a neighbourhood with a few more restaurants and cafes, but the location is great for a good nights sleep.

Rooms are very comfortable and decent sized by Japanese standards, and the artistic style of the Hotel is great. The food at the two hotel restaurants are very good, but also quite expensive.

A good choice for exlporing Tokyo!

My husband and I stayed here for five nights of a two week trip between Japan and China. This was one of our favorite hotels of the trip.

Location:

The hotel is a five minute walk from a subway, directly in the middle of the city. As the Tokyo subway system is seamless, you are within a half hour of anything in the city.

Rooms:

Clean and nicely themed for a Japan vacation. Nice bathtub for taking a soak after a long day.

Amenities:

Although the hotel does not have an onsen, it does have two massage chairs that are free for guest use and actually very good.

Restaurant:

Didn't eat at the hotel, but did have drinks. They were expensive, but nothing crazy. On the plus side the hotel is in a district in Tokyo known for having cheap restaurants. We were able to eat dinner every night (including drinks) for under $80. Most of our dinners were under $50...again including drinks. For Tokyo this was a great deal.

Stay at the Niwa - it's a great property.

Hotel Niwa is a nicely appointed hotel in a good location. The decor is really nicely done. The hotel has a small atrium with a lovely garden and the entrance is stunning and a real treat in a city of so much concrete. Rooms are not too small, especially for Japan. The rooms are not too expensive and are good value for Tokyo. The hotel is really close to a train station, easy enough to walk from there with luggage. There is a restaurant on site which is very expensive. We ate breakfast there once. We will definitely stay there again.

Finding a hotel in Tokyo might be quite a difficult task since there are many details to consider. The main of them are location, access, quality of service and, of course, room price. Fortunately, there is Hotel Niwa Tokyo which can satisfy even the most fastidious tourist. Located in a quiet and easy accessible place it provides outstanding service at reasonable price. People who like sightseeing will find a lot of places of interest around including such a symbols of Tokyo as Imperial Palace, Ginza, Akihabara and others. Metro and train stations are in a few steps from the hotel. Many shops, cafes and various restaurants are also located nearby.
Hearty English-spoken hotel and restaurant staff won't disappoint you. Check-in and check-out procedures are very quick and easy. Standard hotel room is somewhat small but very clean and cosy. The customer will be provided with every appliances and items he needs including all kinds of bath-room accessories, iron, tea-pot, fridge, TV and free Internet access (both cable and wireless).
So, if you are still uncertain what place to choose to stay in Tokyo - be certain, Hotel Niwa Tokyo is the right place to spend the unforgettable time in Japan capital.
