“Great hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 11, 2014

Great hotel, well located, staff very helpful, great quality/choice for Tokyo.
For a business trip, it is the perfect hotel to book, not very expensive for Tokyo.
All the Villa Fontaine in Tokyo are good.

My boyfriend and I were very happy with our stay at Villa Fontaine. The room was comfortable and the staff was very friendly. The room was small (like most Japanese hotel rooms), but we were able to fit two medium sized luggages with a bit of rearranging. The rooms have an internet cable (wifi is only provided in the lobby).

The location is great. Jimbocho is a central, but very calm neighbourhood. The hotel is within walking distance (5 minutes) to the metro station (take the A5 exit/entrance). The hotel was easy to find as it had a large sign on the corner of the street leading to the hotel.

Their breakfast was quite good, and it was enough food to get us going in the morning.

I would definitely stay there again.

I loved this hotel. Very friendly staff, small but very well designed room. The room had a fridge, a water heater to make coffee/tea, and lots of supplies in the bathroom. There was no room for a nightstand, but there was a console with buttons to operate lights. The internet worked great, the location can't be beat. Two minute walk to the subway, and lots of great inexpensive restaurants nearby. I'd stay here again. Very quiet too.

We enjoyed our stay at the Villa Fontaine. It was very comfortable and the staff is extremely helpful. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there is no room in the room for our bags - and thankfully we had bags and not suitcases, because we would have never even been able to open them.

Other than the room being tiny (but very comfortable), the location is GREAT, especially if you love books like we do! It is a 5 minute walk from the subway, and 2 stops away from Tokyo Station (though you have to switch trains, so one stop, switch trains, and one more stop). There are TONS of restaurants in the area, and of course a Family Mart very close by. They also have vending machines (for drinks and beer) in the hotel, and they sell water bottles for 100 yen at reception, which is really awesome. They have a computer with wi fi in the lobby for free use, and they also have free LAN (cable), but we didn't use it since we only brought an iPad). They have a laundromat on the 5th floor, which was a great surprise - 200 yen for the wash, and 100 yen for 30 minutes in the dryer (though the dryer really didn't work well and we had to hang up most of the clothes to dry).

Room Tip: 5th floor if you want to do laundry :-)

I stayed with my husband here while on a business trip. The hotel is only minutes from Jimbocho station and stations on other lines. The rooms are well equipped with internet, a fridge and a kettle. Breakfast comes in a little box which has to be picked up from the lobby. The breakfast is not very good and so I would recommend that you buy or bring your own tea and coffee (and mug) and maybe buy supplies from the local supermarket or pastry shops.
The main drawback of the rooms is that none of them seem to have sheer curtains which means they lack privacy during the day as the hotel is surrounded by other buildings. The rooms are small but still manageable. Staff are professional and can speak English.

Room Tip: Book a healing room. They are a little extra but your back will thank you for it.

We stayed with two year old daughter and enjoy the convenience of close by subway station and restaurants but I have to say that room was really small for three of us. There was barely space for our luggage. Room was mantained clean and staff is friendly and understanding.
