great for a business dinner (if your company pays for it, and even then be prepared for a good justification if accounting asks...). The view might be worth the extra bucks, but still overpriced. Food is good, but portions are small (French). After dinner you can drop by a Yakitori place under the railway bridges close by, there are plenty of them.

Peter: The Bar is THE bar in the Peninsula Hotel Tokyo and for sure worth a visit.
Located on the 24th floor next to the Peter restaurant it overlooks the Ginza district and the imperial palace grounds. The weekday happy hour from 5 till 8, when a good selection of cocktails (including their signature "Tokyo Joe"), wine and beer will be served for only 700,- Yen (unbeatable for a 5star hotel!) is by far the best hotel happy hour I know.
Atmosphere posh-stylish, maybe a bit cool with their silver trees, chairs stylish but not very comfortable but if you don`t care that much for the view try the counter seats (much more comfortable).
Excellent service in English, tapas food has very good quality. Try the signature cocktail "Tokyo Joe", it comes in a tower glass.
All in all: perfect start for an elegant evening out!

We were staying at the Peninsula Hotel and decided for our last night in Japan we we treat ourselves to a meal at Peters. The restaurant is situated on the 24th floor and gives amazing views across Tokyo, however the food was much less than amazing! We went for the 3 course set menu, the portion sizes were ok, not large but big enough as long as you weren't starving and they did bring round a selection of warm rolls and flavoured butter which were good. The food itself was absolutely tasteless the soup was like luke warm water with bits floating in it and main course of duck just had no flavour at all - compared to the explosion of flavours we had experienced elsewhere in Japan this was an extremley expensive disappointment.
Go and have a drink my Tokyo Joe cocktail was very good and enjoy the view , and the funky bar but don't waste your money on the food there are many better and cheaper places to eat in Tokyo

we had found great deal lunch as 3 course menu with 2009yen in Feb. We could overview the Imperial Palace from our table and more. each plate is so tiny but we had made our stomach enough because we ate 3 small breads (wheat, Yuzu lemon and walnut) each. If you have a big stomach, then it couldn't make you feel full, though.
Lunch menu it self was unexpensive but drinks we orderd was so pricey so that our total was bit over budget than we thought. And 3course menu didn't include any coffee or tea. If you order one drink with meal and coffee or tea with dessert, total cost would be 5000yen including tax and service charge. Is it pricey or not ? depends on you can enjoy the atmosphere and landscape in this restaurant.
