Despite advice from others saying that Marunouchi was a waste of time with nothing to see we found quite the opposite. Beautiful designer shopping, gorgeous streets and areas to walk around and delicious cafes. If you enjoy the finer things in life and want to enjoy wandering around a beautiful part of Tokyo I would highly recommend a visit to the Marunouchi area.

Avoid the crowds of Omotosando and stroll down tree lined streets. Really nice to enjoy a coffee or glass of wine and some shopping. Easy access to the Shin Maru building and Tokyo Station also.

Big streets, lots of space. Shopping, places to eat and drink, huge buildings tio stare at.

Walked to the Imperial Palace then headed straight east back towards the buildings and eventually hit the train tracks then headed back south alongside the train tracks until we got to the Marunouchi building with it's incredible architecture. Walked into one end of the building and came out the other. Very nice. Hung a left and went under the train tracks and found ourselves in Ginza. Ate sushi in Bukkuri Sushi. It was okay. The only bad thing about Japan is that they smoke in restaurants like that one. Otherwise it was awesome !
