Ninja themed dining ..... interesting. First you have to complete your Ninja training (a series of trap doors, drawbridges etc) to be seated in semi-private areas and greeted by your trained ninja-waiter. A Ninja magician visits each table to perform a series of tricks between courses - and you have a secret ninja call button to call your waiter. The theatrics are good fun - enter into the spirit of things!
The food is of a very high standard. The portions though are quite small, so you will likely have to order more than you first figured. This means that the total bill is bumped up more than you would expect, and as this is Tokyo you find yourself paying a lot of money for the fun experience.
A great experience if you are looking for a bit of fun, but don't take it too seriously - this isn't a fine dining restaurant.

-Themed restaurant. Staff dressed as ninjas and restaurant is decked out like a full on ride at disneyworld. Looks like you're in dark alleys of old tokyo. Little private rooms and jail cell type places.
-A ninja walks you to your table and claps his hand to make a bridge fall down out of the wall
-We ate in a private room. To get a drink or service you simply knock on the bottom of your table and a ninja will "appear" moments later
-A ninja magician came and gave us a private show for free at our table. He was truly amazing and made our night. Made coins and cards disappear and reappear. The magician does tricks for all of the tables in between courses.
-It didn't cost us any extra for the private room for two.
-Food is kind of expensive it but so worth it for the experience. Everything we ate was delicious. The champagne with strawberry sorbet was awesome too.
-Would recommend this place to anyone. Recommended it to a friend at work and she went with her friends and loved it just as much as my partner and I did.

This place is a hoot! The food is a bit pricey but it's actually very tasty. But you don't go for the food, you go for the ninjas. We enjoyed ourselves SO much, it would be my top choice of things to do in Tokyo.

Ninja may not be an authentic Japanese cultural experience but it is fun and enjoyable. The staff takes care of you from the moment you arrive and the food is very good. The portions are small so over ordering is not a danger for anyone with a typical western appetite.

If you're only in Japan for a short stay and want to focus on the best local cuisine I might skip Ninja, but if you have the time or want a diversion, Ninja is a pleasant and memorable experience.

Stuck away off the side of a shopping centre in Akasaka is the Ninja themed restaurant. We walked through a secret door, through a passage way with a drop down bridge before reaching our private room. The only real issue we had with the room - which was all part of the Ninja theme - was that it overlooked another table and (given they were loud) we could hear a fair bit of their conversation.

We ordered one of the set degustation menus (the 10,000 Yen per person menu). The food was quite contemporary in nature and most dishes were very good with the worst of the dishes being quite reasonable. The presentation of the dishes was extremely good and I would love to go there again to see the presentation of the other dishes close up. We definitely had enough food over the 10 dishes of the degustation menu and felt that (based on similar quality restaurants in Melbourne) that the 10,000 Yen cost was more than reasonable especially as you would be expecting to pay a little extra for the ninja theme.

If we had any complaints, it would be that the service was perhaps a little too fast that that we would have preferred to have a bit more of a break between some of the courses. However, this definitely didn't negatively impact the fantastic night that we had at this restaurant.
