A must-visit for tourist ! A very beautiful garden in the heart of Tokyo. It is beautifully groomed, a great place for taking photos.

Yes, you might need to pay a small admission fees but it's totally worth it.

If you get tired from walking around the park, go to a rest stop near the pond to have some traditional green tea & sweet (500 yen). Good stuff :)

Wonderful garden and lots of Autumn leafs to see. Best to go around the sunset so you can see the autumn leafs during the day as well as after dark when they do the "light up", where you can see the leafs being highlighted by the spotlights they put up around the park.

This a landscape garden in the middle of the cuty. It is so baeutiful that you won´t believe your eyes. There are hundreds of trees, plants and flowers around a pond and all of it composes such a harmonious view that you feel in peace. The most beautiful park we visited in Tokyo.

This place is amazing. They made it so with every step you take and every angle you look it seems that you are in a whole new location. The beautiful view never stops changing. And you don't know if to take a photo after each step you take and after any movement of your head or just cool down and let this beauty surround you. We've been there at autumn I guess it changes with seasons too. So magical. If you like parks and gardens - you must go there,
P.S - Drink some tea in the tea house.

This gem of a garden lies walking distance about 7 mins. from the Komagome station on the JR Yamanote line (and if you haven't been to Tokyo yet you def want to be acquainted with this main line that literally circles Tokyo) My husband was there on business and on his day off I wanted to take him to somewhere peaceful to relax. What a surprise. It is an oasis in the middle of busy, busy Tokyo and the moment you enter you feel the peace and quiet. The entrance ticket lady couldn't have been more gracious and if you are over 65 you get a discount or it's free on certain days. The garden is based on 'SIX POEMS' and there is an english brochure that points out the highlights and/or you can just wander like we did and take in the magnificent rocks and trees. There is a tea house if you want some refreshment and plenty of benches in lovely spots where you can rest. The water is teeming with Koi and turtles and we watched as an elderly man fed them and handed food to an adorable toddler that came running up so she could feed them too. We are talking BIG Koi! They must be super old. When we left in the late afternoon the skies were filled with HUNDREDS of enormous dragon flies. It was fantastic! We went before the leaves changed and I can't imagine how extraordinary it must be in late autumn when the many japanese maples put on their show. This is a great attraction for EVERYONE....families with kids, couples, solo visitors, biz people who need some R & R and friends!
