“Very fine hotel !”
Reviewed November 27, 2013

I have been at this hotel during my last business trip in Japan and I haven’t had any problems with service or facilities. Hotel has a great location with excellent direct connection to JR and Metro Stations. The very nice lobby, the eight elevators (!), the cleanliness, the wonderful views, the spacious rooms makes this hotel very high quality. On the bad side: there is no direct wi-fi in the room, only a LAN cable, but you can rent a router for a very small price (300 Yen); breakfast in the restaurant at 3rd floor is not what you expect for price, but you can have a good and cheap breakfast in the Starbuck’s just outside the hotel.
The room rates are not cheap, however for Tokyo standards they are not so expensive; I would say average value for money. The service is not perfect but still very fine. The same can be said for the whole hotel in general. I would go back again at Tokyo Dome Hotel.

Tokyo Dome is spectacular, especially on the twentienh floor during an earthquake, the entire building sways backwards and forwards and the earth feels like it is moving, quite normal to the Japanese who were unperturbed.

On a practical note the hotel has spectacular views and a trip up to the bar on the forty fifty floor is worth the cover charge to enjoy the lights of Toyko spread out beneath. The hotel alsoserves western breakfasts, (very welcome), has free WI FI in the lobby and very comfortable rooms. Definitely recommend it for a Toyko stay

Room Tip: Rooms up high have great views all around

Your room is spacious (Japan standard of course). The staff is very helpful. Just next to Tokyo Dome, you might come across to Giants fans if there's game. Many restaurants nearby, from French, Italian, Chinese and Japanese food. There's theme park as well. And souvenir shops... And just around the corner you can find starbucks.

What can I say. The hotel is overrated the rooms are clean but nothing special. For international clients there is not many English speaking people. Being a modern country you would expect to have WiFi in every room, not here. You have to request a WiFi modem to be put in your room, if there are any remaining. I found better services in a smaller town hotel.

Maybe I was lucky, however I have been at this hotel twice and have never had any problems with service or facilities. The room rates are not cheap, however for Tokyo they are not horribly expensive, I would say average value for money. On the good side for me there are the breakfast buffet, the great location with several things to see & do within walking distance and good direct connection to Tokyo Station, the very nice lobby, the cleanliness, the views, the spacious rooms (although a bit dated at times) for Tokyo standards. On the bad side: there is no wi-fi in the room, only a LAN cable, which in my opinion is not fine for a hotel of this level in central Tokyo (they seriously have to improve it), the beds are quite hard although for my taste they are still reasonable, the hateful smoking rooms (non-smokers, stay away!). The service is not perfect but it is fine. The same can be said for the whole hotel in general. I would go back a third time.

Room Tip: Take a high floor, no smoking.

Big name hotel, but vastly overrated. Poor value for money. Common areas (lobby/breakfast/reception rooms) really nice, good view from higher floors, but rooms are old and worn down for the class of hotel its supposed to be. Bed is really hard and uncomfortable, back hurt after two days. TV small, not great. Hallways and room have an odd smell to them, and smoking rooms unbearable. Location isn't great--good access to subway/JR line but not much within walking distance. Exceptionally annoying was is no wifi in the guest rooms (hello!?!), so if you have a computer with no ethernet port you can only use the net in the lobby. Every hotel in Asia has wi-fi, even dumpy love hotels. Brought it up to the front desk, who kind of aloofly just said 'sorry we're working on it'. Hotel has adapters but they make you pay for them. Last straw was had to leave early on a bus for Airport, got to breakfast (a buffet, mind you), and the line was so long that my kid and I couldn't eat breakfast. When presented with this, the front just said "sorry" and brushed it off. Had to barge into the breakfast buffet in order get my 2 1/2 year old kid food before an hour long bus ride to Narita. Was bad enough, but the aloof nature of the service at the front desk kind of put it over the top. Summary: Not the worst hotel on earth (lobby is great) but mediocre service, nowhere near worth the money.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a non smoking room if you are bothered by the smell of cigarettes. Also, if you h...
