“Disappointed!”
Reviewed March 28, 2013

Stayed from Feb. 20-22,2013 basically a 2-night stay. We were booked on the 3rd floor without an elevator. but it just took us longer to get to our room. We were in a basic 2 twin bed room which was decent for having a place to stay for the 2 nights. Breakfast was separate and found it acceptable and reasonable. We were supposed to be picked up by a shuttle but didn't know about it till after we checked in but was able to use it on departure. It is close to the airport and the ferry terminal which we chose for our next island destination. On our second day, we left our smartphone in the drawer, gave the desk our key and went on our tours.Later during the night found out that the phone was missing. When we reported it to the desk, the lady said that they have a CCTV which could be checked for unauthorized entry into our room. We asked for it to be viewed but were told that the technician was unavailable. We checked again the morning of our departure the following day but still no technician,so we left our Phil phone number for the result of the CCTV viewing. We are now back in the US and never received a feedback. We were in the Phil 4 more weeks after our check out at their hotel. I feel they had ample time to view the CCTV and at least provided us the result of their finding. As for location,we rented a taxi for the 2 days so we had a customized tour and our driver lived very close to this hotel.

the stay was great, the staff were very accommodating. there's a transportation service to-from the airport/seaport. nice resto, the food selection was great. wifi connection was fast but there's no signal inside the rooms. wifi signal is only at the lobby/reception area. they also provide travel tour packages at affordable prices.

if you're looking for a cheap place to stay in tagbilaran then this would be great but if you want to stay in a place where you really want to unwind then look somewhere else. located in the far end of tagbilaran, the hotel is not very accessible (you can ride a taxi or tricycle). if you want to stay where you can relax better look for a resort in panglao island.

If you're fussy about hotels, this is not the right place for you. Since my husband & I visited Bohol for sight seeing (tarsier, caves, beach) whole day every day of our stay, it's a good enough place for us to stay. We don't usually splurge on hotels during trips as long as it's clean & safe, then we're okay with it. Bohol is such a beautiful tourist spot in my homeland country, the Philippines.

I'm not happy with the bathroom though. And i won't recommend their 'corned beef breakfast meal'. Order the fish instead. In fairness, the receptionist & their staff is nice & accommodating.

There's a nearby mall, Island City Mall, walking distance from Panda Tea Garden Suites.

Panda Tea is off the beaten track. It's in Dao, away from the old Tagbilaran City Center. You take the same route that leads to Island Country Mall but on the intersection before ICM, instead of turning right you just go straight ahead (a new set of traffic lights has recently been installed here). You'll see the National Irrigation Agency sign on the right; Panda Tea is on your left.

It's a small hotel with a small restaurant on the ground floor. The coffee can be strong (perfect for when you take the 0600 fast craft from Cebu and are still groggy). Food is served fast. Pleasure food is also available; better watch the calories.

It's possible to hold small-group meetings here; there are rarely more than three groups of clients at any one time so it doesn't get too noisy. Bigger groups can use a function room to the back of the building.

If you want to take a little time off from discussion there's an oversized chess set. The board takes an entire table so you can literally win - or lose - big.

Room looks good. But wait.
Faucet not working well. Drain clogged up.
Wifi is only in the small recieving area.
Poor services.
Room attendants are not at all attentive and will pass around your concerns.
Beds are too small.

I chose this hotel because of some favourable reviews and the location, near to the Island City Mall. The proximity to the mall was certainly convenient but I found the hotel a bit disappointing. An essential for me is to have good wifi Internet access, even if not in the rooms. The Panda has wifi in the coffee shop but, though it is fine when it works, I found it very unreliable. I was also disappointed that there is no laundry service – fortunately I had time for the 3-day turnaround at the laundry in the mall.
The rooms are simple but quite nice, as the hotel is fairly new. There was no refrigerator in mine, which would be useful – perhaps more expensive rooms have them.
The food in the coffee shop is ok as far as it goes. What they have is quite nice but the menu is limited. Breakfast is limited to Filipino-style choices, so will disappoint if you don’t like that.
All-in-all, adequate but a little disappointing – could be better if they improved a few things. The staff were generally helpful and friendly, making my stay pleasant despite the limitations.

Room Tip: There is no lift, so ask for a room on the 2nd floor if climbing stairs is a problem for you

I stayed here with my family and relatives last mar7-9, they are in the port even before we arrived, it was late we still not able to eat our dinner. They have this small restaurant in the hotel, even the chef is already left/offduty, the assistant as well as the service desk entertained our orders, and cooked for us.., they are very kind, always smiling even doing a lot of things, the food are great, and delicious even we don't have a lot of options coz it's closing time already...then they gave us our assigned delux room. We had a good night sleep for the island tour early morning.
What I really like is the one they contracted for our tours, the driver is also our tourguide, they are the one who welcome us for our breakfast, telling stories about bohol even when we we're eating, very jolly.., and very kind as well as his brother that drove us on our next tour.., the place is near to the island city mall(it's the biggest mall in bohol as of now), until our last day there.., it's really worth it
