Manitouwadge is a remote community 50 kms north of the Trans Canada highway. There used to be a motel and hotel in town, both have closed. So I tried Turner's Northwood Bed and Breakfast.
A staff member has to be called to meet you and checks you in, that's the last you see of them.
I was given a room off the kitchen. The heat in my room was too high, no thermostat to control it. Fortunately the vent was in the bathroom and I could close the door and open a window to cool the room.
The dining room was on the other side of the kitchen another guest was using it as her office, and talking loudly on her cell phone.
There is a little TV in the room with a large screen TV in the comfortable downstairs lounge. Unfortunately It was not working and no one was around to fix it.
Snow had not been removed from the lot and the steps had not been cleared.
Breakfast was strictly do it your self. Coffee had been set up the night before and turned on by the first guest up, and hour later of course it was cold.
The sinks and bathtub had a green stain around the drains (a lttle CLR would clean it) and there was no bath plug.
What can I say, it was a place to lay my head at the end of a long day and little else.
Over priced for what you get.
