Went here after 5 years of passing by in the bus. The museum gave me a good overview and feeling for what had happened at this place during the Second World War. With movies, witness reports and a huge panorama in the basement this was a nice visit

Set in a villa that had a role to play during the airborne landings, this museum has authenticity.
The whole story of the landings is here in words, pictures and artefacts and is placed on each floor of the building including the cellar.
The words and pictures include those of the soldiers and civilians who were there at the time along with examples of actual equipment and no punches are pulled when it comes to explaining the planning and operational errors. However, it also provides a clear insight into the extreme bravery of all concerned supplemented with original film footage

Being a military family I was familiar with the battle of Arhnem but wanted to take kids my oldest is 8 and intrested in History. the place itself was well laid out and all the information boards was in english/dutch and german lots to see and in the basement is a reinactment of what it would be like in the trenches/houses during the war flashing lights the sounds of sirens etc found everything very intresting we went with friends and one of his relaitives was killed in the battle we found him in the book of remeberence whole place very intresting but very emotional as i have been in the situation where husband goes of to war. a must see if your in the area cheap to get in to under 5 free of charge.
