When you go to a restaurant are you there to enjoy the food as the chef offers it or is the chef there to prepare food to your preferences ?
Had a family meal at Balbirnie House Hotel and the food was excellent except ...
one of our party want a well done steak, the chef recommends the steaks are not cooked more than medium, and served a medium steak although the waitress asks how you would like your steak, the kitchen just ignored the order and prepares them as they see fit.
When we sent the steak back it took 15 minutes before it re-appeared well done. Put a right damper on our meal, and was unacceptable in my opinion.
What do people think ? Are we buying food as the chef wants to prepare it or as we want to eat it ?
