“Great B&B”
Reviewed November 11, 2013

This is a really pretty and comfortable B&B with an excellent location. After you've fought your way through the crowds to the top of Mont Saint-Michel, you'll appreciate coming back to this quiet, attractive home, with its beautiful grounds, tastefully decorated rooms, and comfortable beds. It's a great place to restore sanity.

The location is on the main road leading to the abbey. It's just outside the small town of Beauvoir. You can use your car to go to Mont Saint-Michel's main parking lots where you catch the shuttles to go to the island, or you can do what we did. We left our car in Danielle's excellent, safe parking area, walked through a field across the highway and picked up a wide, graveled trail on the levee that led all the way to the island. It's about two miles each way. You can also walk into town. During high season these may be very attractive options to avoid traffic and parking hassles.

Owner Danielle and her husband Kin are great hosts with excellent English skills and a true love of conversation that will immediately put you at ease. In the morning, Kin personally oversees keeping the breakfast room supplied, while Danielle circulates and make sure everything is just right. This is like coming to visit old friends.

One note -- this place is very popular. Start trying to book it as soon as you know you're coming to the area. I sent my first inquiry in mid-May for an October booking. Danielle had no rooms available. She suggested I check back occasionally to see if there were cancellations. I did. I made fall-back reservations at one of the area hotels, but each month, I sent Danielle a note asking if anything had come open. Just before I sent the note in August, I got an email from her saying a room was available. So, start early but don't give up. People's plans change, and this place is worth working for. It will be one of the high points of your trip.

This is truly one of the nicest places to spend the night in the vicinity of Mont Saint Michel. We found it by chance and didn't have a reservation on a busy weekend. However, the husband and wife were extremely accommodating, offered a very competitive rate and were sincerely helpful in making our trip to France a success. They even offered by girlfriend a winter jacket, who had forgotten it back in Belgium!

They will even make reservations for you at the nicest places to munch and will tell you all about St. Malo and the surrounding towns!

simply 10/10

also: they have a very cute cat but i think he (she) has a bit of an attitude problem. but that's no reason to fault the owners or their lovely place! :)

Of all the b and b's we stayed in, this was our favorite. The room was very nicely decorated with the small Asian touches. We took advantage of a restaurant Danielle recommended and ate there all 3 of the nights we stayed. Breakfast was great. We'd stay again if our travels took us that way.

Room Tip: Our room opened onto the garden which was nice.

This is our first B&B experience and it was awesome. Six of us stayed at 3 rooms for 1 night while visiting Le Mont St. Michel. Great location, clean and comfortable property, plenty of parking onsite. It was easy to walk to town and to the parking to take shuttle to Le Mont St. Michel. The owners are very nice. I believe that there are about 5-6 rooms, and this property is booked several months in advance.

One of our favorite places to stay in France. It's a charming place, located close to Mont Saint-Michel. The rooms were clean and very nicely decorated. The place is quite so you will obtrain a good night sleep. What made it special were the owners. Danielle makes you feel welcomed and helps you with restaurant recommendations and other tourist tips. You can tell she enjoys her job and it rubs off on the guests. Breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed talking to the other guests. We would stay there again.

Room Tip: We rented 2 rooms and both were excellent.

Stayed here recently with my mother and daughter. We arrived before check-in and parked our car and then walked towards Mont Saint-Michel along the canal. Check-in with Kin was a breeze and our room was comfortable and our garden spot was relaxing and lovely. Breakfast was delicious (with homemade jams to accompany it). Danielle and Kin made us feel very welcome and comfortable. We highly recommend and will stay there again if our journey brings us back.

Great location to see St Mont Michel and other villages in the area and good to have parking on site. Rooms were warm, which was great as it was freezing when we arrived.... however our room was cluttered and smaller than I expected, with no room for our big bags and a very small, pokey bathroom. On our last day we had a long drive so needed to depart early, advised Danielle that we needed to leave around 730am but breakfast isn't till 830am which I feel is quite late for tourists ...other B&Bs we stayed at on our trip were flexible and happy to offer to put a small, breakfast in our room the night before if we needed to leave early...this was not offered to us when I asked which I feel let down the service of this B&B....breakfast is part of the rate paid. Didn't expect for them to open breakfast early for us but a juice and piece of fruit left in our room would have been good.
On a 5 week trip you certainly get a good overview of service offered at hotels and B&Bs....our stay was ok, but overall I was a little disappointed here with the room and service and feel the reviews gave a better impression than we experienced.

Sorry I let you down and have no excuses, on that day I had personal problems so I was not reactive to your needs.
