We absolutely loved our stay at Greenbanks. Very comfortable, very clean, peaceful and relaxing! The views from the balcony was so lovely and we enjoyed the quiet surroundings. The accommodation had everything we needed and more. If we needed anything extra (like kitchen paper towels), Carol provided without fuss. We loved the fresh eggs that we had every morning! The place had a wonderful bath (although it doesn't appear in the pictures) which we made use of every night! Only a 5 minute walk from a really fabulous pub called the Compasses, which we frequented and would recommend! Carol was also very helpful when we had questions on what to do in the area. Thanks Carol for everything!!
Our 4 day stay at Greenbanks was incredibly chilled and relaxing due to the countryside setting and the warm welcome from Carol. The apartment was plenty big enough for two people and it was spotlessly clean. The apartment had everything you could possibly think of from toothbrushes to fresh eggs from the hens. Carol was a charming host and we were ideally situated to enjoy the beautiful surroundings area. I would recommend Greenbanks to any couple looking for a relaxing break in the countryside.

If you wanted a taste of the idyllic British countryside, somewhere with the colourful and filmic flavours of Hobbiton alongside the quirky pubs and rows of bespoke cottages of Dibley; if you also wanted to flee the noise-polluted escapades of town or city life, with its grey and gloomy cynicism; if you wanted to visit a place where you were likely to see more ducks than humans, then you would do well for visiting Carol's Greenbanks apartment in Damerham.
Upon arrival, we were warmly greeted by Carol who had all the traits of a friendly host and none of a strict landlord. She had left fresh eggs, milk and other essentials ready for us, instructed us to help ourselves to other eggs and produce around the site and told us to knock if we needed anything else. The kitchen itself was modern and clean and the rest of the apartment was more of the same. Warm, homely and was tailored for the use of two tired people in need of a break: sofa comfy, bed soft, shower hot, bath big, balcony sun-facing in the morning, Freeview TV unashamedly used on occasion. Our lounge also gave us a selection of views of the surrounding area: we had a scene from Chicken Run and a gaggle of loitering ducks out of one, out of another was a small family of horses hanging out and running around, and a third afforded us the beautiful sight of a lone deer feeding on the greens before seeing us and scampering across the fields and into the distant countryside. We had not a single gripe whilst we were there. The special touch for us was the black box full of leaflets and documents of walks, cycles, places and events in the local area.
Whilst on the subject, the location was great, too. We were a 5 minute walk from a delightful gastropub, The Compasses, in which we had a glorious meal featuring a blue cheese soufflé. We completed two of Carol's local walks, which were varied and scenic and involved ducks, streams, beautiful detached cottages and country lanes. We were a 7 minute drive from local town Fordingbridge, which had your essential food supplies as well as a range of other local shops. We were a 12 minute drive from Sandy Balls holiday park, where we hired bikes and went on one of their many country trails (admittedly stopping every mile or so for a cup of tea and a scone or a pub lunch). We were a 20 minute drive from Salisbury, a city which has one of those peaceful and historical feels to it, similar to Winchester or Bath or Chichester. Maybe it's the cathedrals?
We would highly recommend Greenbanks for any couples looking for a weekend or short holiday retreat. We really did have a fantastic time and my wife and I both hope to return again one day.

We arrived at Greenbanks to find it set in beautiful countryside. Inside it really was spotlessly clean and the decor was modern and fresh. The balcony looked out across fields-perfect to sit out on in the day or in the evening. There really was no detail that Carol has not thought of. Her friendliness only added to our stay.
It was one of our favourite places we have stayed in. We didn't want to leave and we will definately be returning to Greenbanks-a perfect base to explore this beautiful part of the country.

I just love this place! It's our second stay in this incredible property and as soon as I walked back through the door, I felt instantly relaxed, and had a big smile on my face.
Carol leaves in spotlessly clean - it's like you're the first person to have ever stepped foot in there.. and absolutely everything is provided for you. It's also the little extra touches she provides which make her the perfect host - like the chocolates and Cava for Valentine's weekend.
The views from every window are amazing, I love being able to see the horses, chickens, and rolling countryside.
It rained on our first day, but it didn't matter as we felt so warm and comfortable in our little home.
You'll never want to leave!
