We recently visited the Surma valley on recommendation and were not disappointed. Its an old thanched property which has been tastefully refurbished, it has a very nice ambiance and irritating music - just a really nice buzz of people enjouying themselves. We chose to visit on a Saturday evening, and booked, which was a good job as they were packed out. Popadums and pickles and drinks arrived very quickly - but from then on the service was quite slow - even taking the order. But having said that they were incredibly busy on the take away side as well. I choose my favorite, a biriyani which was delighful having pomegranate seeds in the mix which gave an extra dimension. Excellent food - we will certainly go back with friends
