“5-star dining on the beach!”
Reviewed October 28, 2012 via mobile

A wonderful restaurant right on the beach in a quiet, Central Coast village setting. Our reception was immediate, friendly and welcoming. The staff maintained this high level of service throughout the meal - despite my wife and I having our 2-year old with us at a very busy Sunday lunchtime.

The menu consists of a well-selected and specific range of tastes including a very healthy pea, snow pea, sugar pea purée with asparagus! Meals are beautifully presented. The wine list was short but high quality and there were some wonderful boutique beer selections to sample. The prices are in line with expectations for fine dining.

Of course, an outstanding feature of this restaurant is the view across the beach. The atmosphere makes for a perfect spot for an"afternoon-long" lunch with friends in a high quality restaurant. This is aptly named "a Pearl on the Beach".

“Stunning views, good food if a bit pricey!”
Reviewed October 10, 2012

Booking was easy - and they got a good mark from me for asking if there were children in the 4 I booked for. When we got there it was obvious why. Pearl Beach is very much a family place and a section of the restaurant was set aside for those with children. What a good idea. They had an interesting "large" or "small" meal option on the menu. I had a very delicious risotto made with squid ink and mussels. It was a 'small meal' and was plenty for me, with a very good mixed salad as an extra. Desert was less interesting - raspberry based, but not as flavoursome as I had hoped. My friends had spatchcock which they were very happy with - not a big meal, but it was classified and priced as that. $36 if I remember correctly. But altogether a pleasant evening and thank heavens - quite quiet.

“Splendid food, views and service.”
Reviewed July 26, 2012

The journey to the restaurant from Palm Beach was in itself a highlight! After a sun filled journey by ferry across the water, we were cheerfully met at Patonga by the restaurant owner ( and head chef) who took us to the restaurant. The food was extremely tasty, well priced and the service was personal and sincere. This is a great place for a weekend lunch and would suit a large family gathering or a romantic celebration. We really enjoyed the suggestion of smaller sized servings but more of them! Delicious. After lunch we literally took our shoes off and swam on the beach, it was that close.

“Top Food & View”
Reviewed June 17, 2012

You can literally walk out of Pearls On the Beach right onto the beach and the restaurant looks up beach and across the bay. The day we visited was misty and there was a light drizzle which provided a cosy feel to the beach location, particularly with the fire place turned on.

We were lucky to enjoy the “special” 2 course lunch mid-week where we could have selected any of the items to chose from (3 courses in starters, main meal and desert). My wife and I decided to order one starter, 2 mains and one desert so we could sample the range. Unlike some top restaurants north of Sydney, the waitress was very attentive, relaxed and helpful – she really made us feel at home. Every serving of food provided a very enjoyable experience with food that was fresh, well prepared and presented, and proved delight to eat with some innovation that attracted our attention. The house wine offered with the special menu was surprisingly high quality. We will definitely return.

“Great location and great food”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

Only restaurant in Pearl Beach but definitly worth visitiing. They have changed their menu to serve smaller meals so you can now order 3 or 4 dishes to sample more of scotts cooking. Don't be put off by the complicated descriptions the food is always good
The panacotta I had for desert was to die for.
